They are medieval serfs. You gotta start somewhere, sure you could try to become a YouTube or Instagram star I guess. Good luck with that.
My basic overarching word for GenZ is "impatient to a fault".

Because you're an idiot.
I recently jumped jobs and spent a good portion of 2023 passively and actively seeking a new position.
Despite what the numbers tell you, the job market in tech is awful. Tons of jobs listed but company hiring practices are insane. In my experience, recruiter practices are worse.
A solid 50-60% of applications didn't even receive a form letter rejection. You heard just nothing.
30-35% would send a form rejection, often with place holders for names or signifiant formatting or grammatical errors AND they never said, at all, why you were rejected. But they sure were glad for your interest and encouraged you to apply for future positions. Yeah, sure. Worst part about these was that, in my experience, you'd see them reposted a month later.
The remaining would get an interview at some level. I was ghosted after at least five initial screener interviews. One secondary round. Remaining interviews were actually communicated rejections, but you had to get 2-3 interviews deep before getting human communication.
Had one where after four rounds of interviews, including 2 on-site with significant discussions of salary, benefits, starting timelines and even real estate considerations, I was told the board had "changed directions" and I didn't have the qualifications they were looking for.
So in my experience, no, it's not "impatient to a fault." It's being fed up with -------- corporate culture and behavior where they've shown they aren't deserving of your respect because they sure as ---- weren't giving any respect.
