Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, April 27, 2024

Donald Trump has risked violating his gag order to talk about all of the trial witnesses except one -- former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker. "Donald Trump went after [Michael] Cohen, he went Cohen in the opening, on social media, but he's silent. It's almost like he's endorsing Pecker and that's terrible for him," trial lawyer Michael Popok said on the LegalAF podcast. "He hasn't done a darn thing to tear down Pecker. Pecker is dumping willingly on Donald Trump and supporting the entire case."

------- testimony actually helps Trump in some ways and Trump will probably use it to his benefit.

Like when -------aid that he routinely squashed stories for other celebrities. Trump will say that it's normal in the industry to do that sort of thing, and therefore noncriminal.

All he needs, is to find one sympathetic juror and provide the hook for them to hang their hat on. Like OJ and the gloves/Mark Fuhrman.

That alone has never been the reason why Trump is in court. It's because - unlike the others - he was running for President and he paid hush money to stop a story that would harm his campaign from being made public through a conspiracy with ------ and Michael Cohen.

It's about the m-o-n-e-y, full stop. Squashing stories isn't against the law on its face. Paying to squash a story to further the likelihood of winning an election is a bird of another feather.

The liberal media was getting paid to squash the Hunter Biden laptop story.

2 weeks before the election I heard all about it but the media didn't cover it.

No one paid to keep the story from being published. The story was Russian disinformation and I'm shocked that you don't understand that after all this time.

Media outlets were reticent to use something with such sketchy providence and rightly so.

Receipts for #17.

Exclusive: Russia-linked smear campaign against Hunter Biden began earlier than previously thought

*A former KGB agent gave disinformation about Hunter Biden to an aide for Mike Pompeo in May 2019.
*The agent also presented the same disinformation to Justice Department officials in January 2019.
*The presentation is the earliest known instance of a Russia-linked source pushing such allegations.

The Hunter Biden laptop and claims of Russian disinfo'

Complicating matters was that the source of the hard drive, Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, refused to share it with other news organizations, including The Washington Post and the New York Times. Few were willing to report information in the New York Post stories without their own due diligence, especially if Russia was once again seeking to meddle in the election.

A major question was the origin of the materials. The story that Hunter Biden turned over for repair a laptop filled with sensitive materials - and then never picked it up - seemed rather fantastic.

50 former senior intelligence officials, including five CIA chiefs, had signed a letter saying the release of the emails "has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation."

Note that the letter refers to a Russian "information operation" - not disinformation. Within the national security community, there's a difference.

"Information operations and warfare, also known as influence operations, includes the collection of tactical information about an adversary as well as the dissemination of propaganda in pursuit of a competitive advantage over an opponent," says the Rand Corp.

Disinformation, by contrast, is false information deliberately intended to mislead.

The issue was the laptop itself and how the information on it got to a repair shop in Delaware and a hard drive that Rudy Guiliani was peddling or that it ever belonged to Hunter Biden in the first place. Hunter Biden was in California at the time it was supposed to be dropped off in Delaware.

Hunter Biden WAS NOT running for President!

His transgressions had nothing to do with his father whatsoever, so they were IRRELEVANT as an election issue. Hunter is a grown ass man living his own life, then grieving the loss of his brother by losing himself in substance abuse and gratuitous sex.

Why do you feel that was a germane campaign issue?

Well, some of the photos and some of the emails are real. Some of the so-called HB photos were not on the original computers/hard drives per the computer repair guy himself. Regarding the laptop, here is an article that just came out on the topic yesterday:

Ex-Giuliani Associate Reveals When Trump Set Sights on Hunter Biden

Lev Parnas said the Trump campaign started targeting Hunter Biden's laptop two months earlier than previously thought.

A former associate of Rudy Giuliani has blown open the Hunter Biden laptop story, revealing that Donald Trump and his associates decided to target President Joe Biden's son months before they claimed they had unearthed his laptop at a Delaware repair shop.

In an interview released Thursday night by MeidasTouch, Ukrainian American businessman Lev Parnas claimed the cohort had been notified of the presence of a laptop belonging to Hunter in February 2019.

"We knew as early as middle-to-end of February 2019, is when the first time I heard about the Hunter Biden laptop from Yuriy Lutsenko," Parnas told MeidasTouch, referring to Ukraine's former minister of internal affairs. "He told me that there is a hard drive out there with compromising information on Hunter Biden, and he promised to get it to us."

"Hunter's laptop came into the conversation so I was responding to that."

So, the story was reported by the media.

I cannot understand the cognitive dissonance it takes to be a conservative.

You get that the supposed controversy was an advisory that came from the government that the story smelled of russian disinformation (which it still does to this day mind you) and several news organizations, WHO HAD ALREADY PASSED ON THE STORY, decided to not run with it.

Including the following:

Foxnews
OAN
NewsMax (or Newsnation whatever the republican propaganda co. is)
The Washington Examiner
The Daily Mail

ETC
ETC
ETC

So, for YOUR conspiracy theory to hold ANY water, the conservative news media would have had to be in on it.

You understand that right?

You will proceed to ignore that question.

PS The above means that Parnas learned about the laptop 2 months before it got dropped of to the blind computer repair guy:

But that was two months before Trumpworld's accusations of impropriety by Hunter Biden officially began, with the Delaware computer repair shop owner claiming that a man identifying himself as Hunter Biden had dropped off a laptop for repairs in April 2019.

The laptop story has been thoroughly debunked"including by a joint investigation by two Republican Senate committees, as well as an investigation by the Republican-led House Oversight Committee.

No need to stop there.

Bill also supports a serial adulterer, serial liar, serial thief, and serial coveter of both belongings and wives; a guy who breaks AT LEAST HALF THE TEN COMMANDMENTS on a regular basis.

Then, in the next sentence, he'll parade his religion.

Read the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause in the First Amendment.

FFS Bill you know that the Constitution isn't the issue. The issue is whether or not you expect those who represent you to mirror the same religious beliefs that you do. Trump is the closest thing to an anti-Christ this nation has ever seen ascend into the Presidency. He lies, he cheats, he swindles, he's a serial adulterer, he's a serial abuser, and he espouses violence as a means to his own ends - never ONCE mentioning any tenet of Jesus as his guidance, and NEVER going to any church services whatsoever. He has no history with a pastor or spiritual mentor and can't quote a single bible verse or even articulate a bible passage as being meaningful to his own existence or outlook on spiritual life.

He constantly talks about hating others and wishing them physical harm or incarceration. He tells his followers to physically attack supporters of his opponents and he lyingly besmirches enemies for the very negative things that he does himself. He doesn't believe in apology nor acceptance, constantly preaching revenge and retribution - antithetical to the teachings and words of Jesus himself.

And you find this man deserved of your support while the man who goes to church every Sunday, embraces every generation of his vast family, and wears his faith on his sleeve is somehow a worse choice due to his politics?

People losing their freedom and our government being overly involved and manipulating our lives.

Democratic leaders want people to be emotionally stunted and fearful of growing up and accepting responsibility independent of the government.

Most Democrats are some form of Christian affiliation or another. You can say what you want about how they practice, which I'm sure you will, but you can't claim anti-Christ by any resonable measure.

That's the very nature of the history of Christianity how it started.

The first Christian churches contained both Jews and Christians or "circumsized and uncircumsized" depending on the translation.
