Russia said on Sunday U.S. lawmakers' support for $60.84 billion more in aid for Ukraine showed that Washington was wading much deeper into a hybrid war against Moscow that would end in humiliation on a par with the Vietnam or Afghanistan conflicts.

More from the article...

... Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said it was clear that the United States wanted Ukraine "to fight to the last Ukrainian" including with attacks on Russian sovereign territory and civilians.

"Washington's deeper and deeper immersion in the hybrid war against Russia will turn into a loud and humiliating fiasco for United States such as Vietnam and Afghanistan," Zakharova said.

Russia, she said, will give "an unconditional and resolute response" to the U.S. move to get more involved in the Ukraine war. ...

A couple of things...

1) ... Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said it was clear that the United States wanted Ukraine "to fight to the last Ukrainian" including with attacks on Russian sovereign territory and civilians. ...

So Russia seems to reiterate its claim to all of Ukraine?

2) ... "Washington's deeper and deeper immersion in the hybrid war against Russia ...

The US involvement in the war in Ukraine is not "against Russia" it is to help Ukraine protect its sovereignty.

No it's not, it's to drain Russia.

If really about sovereignty Biden would have opened up channels for negotiation before the invasion.

Huh?

Your current alias is gonna have to provide a whole lot more detail before that comment seems to be anything more than a lame deflection attempt.

The US adding $61 Billion to their GDP is like Vietnam or Afghanistan? I don't see it.

" Russia, she said, will give "an unconditional and resolute response""

Riiiiiiiight.

Right after they finish this three-day dustoff of Ukraine.

that would end in humiliation on a par with the Vietnam or Afghanistan conflicts.

She's absolutely correct, except it's Russia's Afghanistan 2.0/Vietnam. Which is obvious to anyone with a functioning brain, so maybe not to Russians.

This level of dumb is astounding.

As if there wasn't diplomacy going on about it since Crimea in 2014 and before.

ONEIRONAUT's idea of negotiation is giving MORE of Ukraine to Russia.

Before the war? Liar.

Nothing had to be "given".

Only guarantees to Russia that Ukraine would remain Neutral. Renounce the 2008 Budapest announcement.

Your idea, currently happening, is Russia invades and now takes half of Ukraine, Millions of Ukrainians are dead, and Billions of US dollars along with it.

This level of dumb is astounding.

Sure ... negotiations to avert war is astoundingly dumb?

As if there wasn't diplomacy going on about it since Crimea in 2014 and before.

There wasn't, feel free to justify this with a link where the US sent a delegation to negotiate with Russia?

"negotiations to avert war"

That's a fun way to describe
Unconditional Surrender

Is everyone from China this much of a weasel, or is China only sending their best?

Yeah nah .. it's pretty clear this is just a deflection to avoid painful thoughts of this aliases preconceived notions about the Ukraine war aren't going as planned, and that a better solution for all involved existed.

That's what China did in 1937 when Japan invaded them... gave up half their territory just to stop the war.

Oh, wait, no they did-int.

Naw he's definitely not the best China has to offer.

The best ones are probably trying to cyber attack you as we speak.

A December 2023 court-authorized operation has disrupted a botnet of hundreds of U.S.-based small office/home office (SOHO) routers hijacked by People's Republic of China (PRC) state-sponsored hackers.

The hackers, known to the private sector as "Volt Typhoon," used privately-owned SOHO routers infected with the "KV Botnet" malware to conceal the PRC origin of further hacking activities directed against U.S. and other foreign victims. These further hacking activities included a campaign targeting critical infrastructure organizations in the United States and elsewhere that was the subject of a May 2023 FBI, National Security Agency, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and foreign partner advisory. The same activity has been the subject of private sector partner advisories in May and December 2023, as well as an additional secure by design alertreleased today by CISA.
