This was posted a few hours ago, a cover of pretty well known tune, sung by a mom, Ellen, to her new child Macy (who appears at the end).

"I saw a mom on TikTok sing this song to her newborn baby and have been singing it to Macy ever since. I brought it to the band to see if it would be a good fit and Emmett arranged it into the sweetest lullaby.

Enjoy this song made famous by Aerosmith... "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" ~ Ellen"

@#5

Otis Redding is great. I mean, he hit it out of the park with his "Dock of the Bay" song.

There is also this song he wrote and performed ...

Otis Redding - Hard To Handle

The Black Crowes covered the song four decades ago and that, unfortunately, seems to be the version that is remembered.

But, for me. Mr Redding's version is the best one I've heard.

I'm not a Mom, but I can ~feel~ what is conveyed in those lyrics.

King Missile - My Heart is a Flower (1991)

OK, King Missile has a different, ummm, let's say, style to their tunes.

That I have only heard their songs on college radio should be your first clue.

I mean, this one should give you a clue...

King Missile - Detachable P?nis (Official Music Video)
www.youtube.com

Lyric excerpt (with a title like that, how can I not provide a lyrics excerpt?)

genius.com

...
I woke up this morning with a bad hangover, and my p?nis was missing again. This happens all the time; it's detachable

(Detachable p?nis)

This comes in handy a lot of the time. I can leave it home when I think it's gonna get me in trouble, or I can rent it out when I don't need it. But now and then I go to a party, get drunk, and the next morning I can't for the life of me remember what I did with it

First I looked around my apartment, and I couldn't find it. So I called up the place where the party was; they hadn't seen it either

I asked them to check the medicine cabinet, 'cause for some reason I leave it there sometimes, but not this time. So, I told them if it pops up to let me know.

I called a few people who were at the party, but they were no help either.

I was starting to get desperate. I really don't like being without my p?nis for too long; it makes me feel like less of a man, and I really hate having to sit down every time I take a leak
...

Yeah, they don't write lyrics like that anymore.

But kudos to King Missile for waking up the usual humdrum world of music.

Belly - Feed The Tree (2002)
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt...

...
[Verse 1]
This old man I've talked about
Broke his own heart, poured it in the ground
Big red tree grew up and out
Throws up its leaves, spins round and round

[Chorus]
I know all this and more
So take your hat off when you're talkin' to me
And be there when I feed the tree

In addition to listening to the area college stations, I also accumulate some ~assorted tunes~ albums.

From The CD, "The Bottle Let Me Down - Songs For Bumpy Wagon Rides"

Where else can you hear a song like this...

Cornell Hurd Band - Don't Wipe Your Face With Your Shirt

For some odd reason, no lyrics seem to be available.

Oh well....

It must have been a very surreal experience for a musican (Charlie Puth) who likes Elton John's music to actually perform with 2 original band members who played on the original track and then get a standing ovation from both Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

Michael Franks - Popsicle Toes
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt...

genius.com

...
And when God gave out rhythm
He sure was good to you
You can add, subtract, multiply and divide...
By two

I know today's your birthday
And I did not buy no rose
But I wrote this song instead and I call it
"Popsicle Toes"

...

You got the nicest North America
This sailor ever saw
I'd like to feel your warm Brazil
And touch your Panama

But Your Tierra del Fuegos
Are nearly always froze
We gotta see saw
Until we unthaw those
Popsicle toes
