... In a video posted to his Truth Social website on Wednesday, Trump again took credit for ending Roe v. Wade, but then argued abortion access should be "up to the states," which would be free to pursue "different" policies. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee also criticized an Arizona Supreme Court ruling that reapplied an 1864 law outlawing abortion in nearly all cases, which he said went "too far" and would "be straightened out."

Abortion access has become a politically troublesome issue for Republicans since the Supreme Court overturned Roe in June 2022. The GOP's underperformance in the November 2022 midterm elections, when a widely anticipated "red wave" failed to arrive, was widely linked to the backlash over this issue.

Trump's video on Wednesday sparked an angry response from some Christian conservative commentators, with Ben Zeisloft, editor of The Republic Sentinel, saying, "I will not vote for Donald Trump unless something very drastic changes," adding that Trump "refuses to do his duty under King Jesus and use his federal power to protect all humans under his jurisdiction." ...

... Is Donald Trump Losing Evangelical Christians? ...

I'd say... no.

imo...

In other words, where are the Evangelical Christians (EC) going to go?

The EC have demonized any alternative to their apparent Savior, fmr Pres Trump.

So much so that he seems to be the only choice they have now.

Regardless of what he now says or does.

And, I'd proffer that the Trump campaign knows that the EC are quite docile, subservient?, at this point.

So, the Trump campaign does not seem to care if it p!sses of the EC.

... and, back in the day, I was taught that there is one, and only one Savior.

But now, I see different opinions on that matter.

I went to CPAC as an anthropologist to understand Trump's base ' they believe, more than ever, he is a savior (February 2024)

... What is happening in the hearts of former President Donald Trump's supporters?

As an anthropologist who studies peace and conflict, I went to the annual meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, to find out. I wanted to better understand the Make America Great Again faithful " and their die-hard support for Trump.

The event began on Feb. 21, 2024, in National Harbor, Maryland, with Steve Bannon's routine, untrue banter about how President Joe Biden stole the 2020 election, and it peaked with an angry speech from Trump three days later. In between, I sat among the MAGA masses listening to speaker after speaker express outrage about American decline " and their hope for Trump's reelection.

Everywhere I turned, people wore MAGA regalia " hats, pins, logos and patches, many with Trump's likeness. I spent breaks in the exhibition hall, which featured a Jan. 6 insurrection-themed pinball machine featuring "Stop the Steal," "Political Prisoners" and "Babbitt Murder" rally modes and a bus emblazoned with Trump's face. Admirers scribbled messages on the bus such as, "We have your back" and "You are anointed and appointed by God to be the President."

Those on the left who dismiss the CPAC as a gathering of MAGA crazies and racists who support a wannabe dictator do not understand that, from this far-right perspective, there are compelling and even urgent reasons to support Trump. Indeed, they believe, as conservative politician Tulsi Gabbard stated in her CPAC speech on Feb. 22, that the left's claims about Trump's authoritarianism are "laughable." This is because CPAC attendees falsely perceive President Joe Biden as the one who is attacking democracy.

Here are my top three takeaways from CPAC about Trump supporters' current priorities and thinking. ...

He's much closer to being the antiChrist than he is the Christ.

No matter what DT says about his stand on abortion, he's going to vote for a total ban if congress puts it before him. Evangelicals know he's lying just to get elected. They'll still vote for him.

I'll take Cognitive Dissonance for $1,600, Mr. Jennings.

Probably, but only because it will keep him in the news. Don't forget that "if" Lewzer gets re-elected it will be his last term. He won't need votes any more. He will just be after cash. He will continue to fleece the rubes because they are stupid.

He will vacuum up every dollar from every campaign account he can find and put it in his pocket. He will route government money straight to his personal accounts via his hotels and golf outings like he did the last time.

Never forget that the business and affairs of the USA are of no concern to Lewzer, never were, and never will be. It's all about him.

After the gay-day celebrations with the nekkid trannies and drag show, the EV crowd sees that clown as the antichrist. I'm sure they'd pal around with Orange Julius way before voting for Babylon.

As it should be with the president and his family. If they want to get down like that it isn't my business until they do it on the White House lawn for everyone to see. I figured it was going to get cranked with all the contacts Hunter brings to the table. Joe isn't a slouch either, according to Ashley.

Trump supporters whining about almost anyone else's morals is laughable.

They align themselves with not only The Worst President in American History, according to Presidential Historians, but also one of the most immoral people to ever disgrace the Office.
