Oh no! You can't kill your child in the womb anymore in some states! The absolute horror!

Crazy how you're so pro life that it's okay to kill the baby in some states.

I am sure it was for her arsewipe. She had a miscarriage and after that horrible ordeal the state with its draconian laws put her through another horrible ordeal.

And she actually wanted to have that baby ... now because of the state she will probably never be able to have babies.

Think of all those potential babies the state "aborted" with its draconian laws.

Nice going Deplorables.

Odd. The Bible says it isn't a baby and abortion is okay.

Medical Science says it's not a baby.

What authority do you use to say its a baby?

Not sure about the babies, but Sodam and Gomorrah were destroyed with fire in the form of burning sulfur raining down on them, not a flood.

NG said "OR"... he wasn't conflating the two occurrences.

In either case, not that anyone cares, Paul said that to be absent from the flesh (material world) is to be present with God (non-material world, spiritual world, possibly Dark Matter, lol).

The actual effects of the Dobbs decision are as follows:

1. An increase in the rate of abortions (you know MORE abortions than would otherwise have been performed)-www.guttmacher.org
2. Pregnancy is now less safe: www.kff.org
3. Women are choosing to not get pregnant-www.politico.com
New polling shows that a third of young women say they or someone they know has decided not to get pregnant because of concerns about maternal health care after Dobbs.
4. It is harder to get an abortion: patientengagementhit.com

So, in summary, since Dobbs, more abortions are occurring though it is more difficult to get an abortion, pregnancy has become more dangerous and fewer women are getting pregnant.

LOL, Is this what the anti-choice religious fanatics wanted?

Christians: Remember, it's lent so you can eat meat.

So no eggs, right?

Christians: No eggs are okay.

But they're chickens.

Christians: No they're not chickens until they hatch.

So the thing isn't a thing until it's born?

Christians: Yes,...no....wait...

Most miscarriages are natural. So does that make God the Master Abortionist?

So if not getting an abortion ends up killing the woman but the fetus is born and somehow survives, can we charge the child with murder? What about the father?

#14 | Posted by Sycophant at 2024-04-10 09:28 AM | Reply

You notice: it's always negative effects for the mother, with little to no consequences for the father.
It was never about "life"...it is about control of a perceived voting bloc.

Sadly there will never be room for compromise on this issue.

You either believe abortion is murder or not.

If you believe it's murder, how can you just stand by and let it happen in good conscience? If you don't believe it's murder, how can you stand by and let others control women's bodies like cattle in good conscience?

I believe its murder. I also think it should be legal because no one should be forced to be a parent. But that goes for BOTH parents. Women should be free to abort babies, and men should be free to not support them.

It should also be legal to murder someone who is suffering and wants to die.

Personally, I believe in the sanctity of human life - that every life can be of infinite value, at least to the one living it - but in this definition of human life, it has to include conscious awareness. Leaving me pro choice.

Oddly enough, religious arguments convince me the least. If there is God and a soul, heaven and all that - it doesn't even matter does it? Just sending them someplace better faster. Kind of a weird argument.

Even more oddly, we consider a heartbeating body without brain activity to be "dead" and allow that person's proxy to end any artificial life support, knowing that the body will expire.

I wonder why measurable in vitro brain activity isn't the red-line deliniation where an embryonic clump of dividing cells actually displays signs of probable life.

But more importantly is the fact that in death we admit that the physical body is simply a vessel for consciousness/interactive life/soul. Does destroying the vessel destroy the soul? No one believes that, and in that immutable truth may lie the reason the Christian bible does not contain a single reference to life beginning at conception nor deeming human intervention in terminating an in vitro embryo as an act of murder as determined by the Fifth Commandment.

My Roman Catholic orthodoxy taught me that souls are infinite and that the death of the body is not the death of the soul. If that is one's belief, then how does that square with abortion being the cessation of "life" when the body itself is not physically connected to the eternal soul?

" Oh no! You can't kill your child in the womb anymore in some states! The absolute horror!..."

You never could kill a child. You could only remove a blastocyst or an embryo. And then later on in special circumstances, a fetus.

But never a child unless you have an agenda to manipulate the facts or are a religious zealot.

"I wonder why measurable in vitro brain activity isn't the red-line deliniation where an embryonic clump of dividing cells actually displays signs of probable life."

That's a great point TonyRoma.

If the unborn are going to be treated like people, their status of being braindead or not should be the standard by which life support can be removed.

I mean I think if we are going to lay blame on to someone ... I'm pretty sure it would be on her husband for not pulling out.

That wouldnt have been an issue if trump hadn't allowed abortion to be banned.

Deuteronomy 21 18-21

Bible explicitly allows post-birth abortions. Who hasn't had a disobedient child at times?

Any conservative Christians here want to explain how this explicit verse from the bible doesn't say exactly what it says?

"You never could kill a child."

No one wants to kill babies. They are just too damn cute!

It's when they become rebellious teenagers and just never quit whining (like a Republican who lost another election) that you want to wring their necks.
