Secondly, deadly force doesn't require the presence of weapons. It requires that an officer reasonably would be in fear for his life/great bodily harm, or others. In this case, he was alone in a hallway. An officer that is in the protection unit of the Capitol Police. He was SPECIFICALLY charged with the safety and security of Pelosi. She was right behind him. He's alone, and staring down an angry mob, outnumbered 100 to 1. The mob then smashed out the window in the hallway door and started climbing through, ignoring commands to stop.

That is a clean and reasonable shoot 100 times out of 100.

All violence is a tragedy that shouldn't be tolerated, be it riots stemming from legitimate protests, or an attempted coup of the legitimate and rightful government of the a United States.

Everyone should be outraged at both.

The issue is both were riots, but January 6th also added the attempted overthrow of our government. If you don't think that makes it far worse, I don't know how to help you. You're lost, and obviously don't like this country very much. Peaceful transfer of power from one president to the next should be sacred. We should be utterly horrified by the attempted coup.
