Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, March 26, 2024

Donald Trump, whether they like it or not is the leading candidate for president in the United States in 2024. And NBC, which claims to be a news outlet, is explicitly apologizing because they hired somebody minimally associated with that campaign, even though they're surrounded by people who came right from the Democratic National Committee and the Biden White House. They see no contradiction in that at all.

You're so stupid that your "comment" isn't even remotely on topic.

LYD's comment is on topic if you understand the role McDaniel played in Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election:

Liz Cheney Reacts to Ronna McDaniel's Jan. 6 Excuse

"Ronna facilitated Trump's corrupt fake elector plot & his effort to pressure MI officials not to certify the legitimate election outcome," she wrote Sunday. "She spread his lies & called 1/6 'legitimate political discourse.' That's not 'taking one for the team.' It's enabling criminality & depravity."

www.newsweek.com

I understand Ronna spent the weekend deleting a lot of her previous posts on X, hoping people would forget the active role she played in pushing the lie that the elelction was rigged and Joe Biden isn't the legitimately elected POTUS.

Biden didn't incite an insurrection like Trump did. Huge difference Jeff. Please do try again.

FFS this isn't about Trump. It's about a glaring double standard within the corporate media ecosystem.

It actually is about Trump you intellectually dishonest hack. Anyone involved with Trump should be blackballed. I'm not surprised that you don't understand why that is Jeff.

Ronna McDaniel sold herself to ------- who tossed her away.

Ronna McDaniel lied, including to NBC about the insurrection.

Ronna McDaniel, to this day, has not apologized for defending an insurrection.

Ronna McDaniel is a. not a friend to the establishment republican party and b. is persona non-grata in the Magat wing of the Republican party.
Given a. and b. Ronna McDaniel adds zero value to NBC news.

Is that the double standard that had MSNBC (at least 3 of those letters might ring a bell) hired Michael Steele-you know the former head of the RNC.

You'll say that about ANY Republican not named Romney, Cheney or Kinzinger, Laura Mohr.

#12 | Posted by BellRinger at 2024-03-26 05:33 PM | Reply

Here's the thing. I absolutely think NBC made a mistake bringing McDaniel on as a paid commentator.

What's ridiculous is the freak out over it when MSM outlets do the same with the likes of Brennan and Clapper or negotiate a deal with Jen Psaki while she was still working for the White House.

Zero self-awareness.

What "freak out" are you referring to?

#14 | Posted by snoofy at 2024-03-26 05:45 PM | Reply

You'll say that about ANY Republican not named Romney, Cheney or Kinzinger, Laura Mohr.

Spoken by the ignoramus who has no idea how many Republicans already are paid contributors on MSNBC.

And let it be pointed out that many of McDaniel's MSNBC critics are themselves either current or former Republicans - former RNC Chairman Michael Steele, Bush Comms Director Nicolle Wallace, former GOP Congresman David Jolly, conservative pundit Charlie Sykes to name a few.

As most have made crystal clear, the backlash isn't about McDaniel's political party, it's about her direct complicity in assisting Donald Trump's attempt to delegitimize U.S. elections with lies regarding nonexistent voter fraud, especially in Michigan as she joined Trump on phone calls with state officials in his efforts to overturn their certified results naming Joe Biden the state voter's presidential choice in 2020.

#1 | POSTED BY TONYROMA AT 2024-03-26 08:07 AM

It's the same reason none of Nixon's Watergate conspirators were hired by media companies. McDaniel actively tried to assist Trump in trashing constitutional rule in America by parroting his Big Lie over and over again.

She even changed her name - dropping Romney - in aquiesence to his psychopathy. She has no place in non-Trump slurping media.

Only Fox paid out big bucks to avoid a going to trial in a defamation case brought by Dominion Votint Systems about the lies the newwork told about the 2020 elelction being rigged:

In a summary judgment on March 31, 2023, Delaware Superior Court judge Eric M. Davis ruled that none of the disputed statements Fox News made about Dominion were true and ordered a trial to determine if the network had acted with actual malice. Several prominent Fox News personalities and senior executives were expected to testify at trial.

On April 18, 2023, as opening statements were about to begin, the judge announced that the parties had reached a settlement. Fox News agreed to pay Dominion $787.5 million and acknowledged the court's earlier ruling that Fox had broadcast false statements about Dominion. The settlement did not require Fox News to apologize. It is the largest known media settlement for defamation in U.S. history.

I can abide an opposing viewpoint on who is the greatest guitar player of all time.

I can even abide an opposing viewpoint on how much of an estate should be exempt from the death tax.

I cannot abide an opposing viewpoint on basic human rights.
