There's a whole list at the link of happenings the last few days, but this has to be my favorite:

"Amid Friday's chaos, disgraced former Rep. George Santos announced he's leaving the Republican Party to run for Congress in New York as an independent " saying the GOP was too, "embarrassing."

Bwahahahaha!

Well, the House Republicans, by their own apparent admission, seemed to have earned it...

Chip Roy Furiously Tears Into Fellow Republicans (November 2023)
www.newsweek.com

... Chip Roy attacked his fellow Republicans in a surprising speech on Wednesday.

Speaking on the House floor, the Texas Republican and Freedom Caucus member accused his own party of having done "nothing" with their majority in the House of Representatives. They have 221 seats to the Democrats' 213.

He said: "You know, we have had a tumultuous year of sorts, but in the eyes of the American people, they've been watching from afar wondering when this body, the people's House, will stand up in defense of the people who send us here."

"When are we going to do what we said we would do?" he continued. ...

They're not mad about the chaos. They're mad that they werent allowed to enact MORE chaos. They were sent there to destroy the country and they've failed so they're furious.

It's strange seeing the left (the big tent open to differences of opinion) more cohesive than the right (the narrow-minded traditionalists)

I love that the last one is leaving in such a way that they can't have a special election to fill the spot.

Think about that.

He planned it out so he could break one off in your asses.

The first one that left, Buck I think it was, said there were three more.

Wouldn't that be something.

Having spent a few days recently around several couples with numerous kids between, roughly, 4-10, observing them as a grandfather operating, for better or worse, with a bit of an anthropological perspective, there seemed to be at least some sort of relationship between the most loathsome GOPer behavior in Congress and that of some of the kids for whom parental instructions, warnings, etc. came, as things turned out, zero consequences. And that is on their nose-picking constituents.

The arrogance of House republicans to think that their small majority would allow them to dominate the behavior of the federal government. It's the proverbial tail wagging the dog scenario. House republicans are delusional. Their delusion is understanding because they come from ruby red, gerrymandered districts that they have no fear of not winning re-election. When there is no fear of losing your seat, you can be as outrageous and delusional as you want to be.

The impact of a House member potentially losing their seat is immediately apparent by the lack of visibility of Lauren Bobert. Is she intentionally trying to keep a low profile thinking that will help her in the June 25th Co. primary?

Republicans obediently only get rheir news from right wing propaganda media but somehow a little bit of truthful information gets through to them and some begin to doubt the craziest of their leaders and realize shutting doen the government would harm themselves and their own families right along with the minorities they really were aiming to hurt and I think that is why their majority can't last for long.

The current Republican party is full of amateurs who have absolutely no idea how to run a household much less govern a nation.

We know who controls the Republican House majority and we know who controls Speaker Johnson.

Obviously, something is terribly wrong with the system of checks and balances that make the government function as intended.

If they're really unhappy, 1) give the middle finger to the one who is pulling all their strings . . . 2) take the ring out of their nose.

This has been true since the ---------- took over. They used to be better at the Norquist method, but the dumber you are, the further you rise in Repubican politics.

Look, I don't want to give away any trade secrets, but look at how many times you see a reference in this article to anger and fury among the GOP.

The problem with MAGA/hardline Republicans is that they are 100%, to a person, hateful, livid, rabid --------. They are filled with rage, intolerance and vengeance. They are not actually working to make anything better, but instead to obfuscate and make sure that everybody knows how different we all are.

So maybe you should stop nominating and electing complete --------. If you have fewer complete --------, more positive things will get done, and you don't limit your party to complete --------. (Feel free to substitute the word dick for -------. Funny how they mean basically the same thing in the vernacular.)

Anyway, my point is that you don't have to tut around like you're a tough guy and prepare for Civil War II and tear everybody down all the time. Quit looking for enemies, learn some humility, get outside your comfort zone. It'll be good for you. Find ways to work with your fellow Americans to help America be a better and happier place. Don't you want that?

Trump doesn't want that. If and when Trump becomes dictator and his new "autocratic constitution" replaces the system of checks and balances with his hand-picked bobbleheads, (Marjorie Taylor Green is auditioning bigtime) 99% of the House Republicans won't have a job for long after 2024 anyway ~ providing they even survive re-election in spite of the GOP's starvation diet for Republican down tickets.

... House Republicans have skipped town for Easter recess with their base enraged, their majority in tatters -- and their speaker facing the prospect of a humiliating ouster at the hands of his own MAGA allies. ...

... and who do you think the GOP will blame?

Themselves, for not governing? Hardly.

But then there is this...

It's embarrassing': Republicans worry they have no achievements to run on in 2024 (January 2024)
www.nbcdfw.com

... Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, has openly questioned whether the GOP deserves to keep the House majority, lamenting the lack of accomplishments this Congress. He's not alone.

When Congress began the new year, Rep. Andy Biggs gave a television interview and made a startling confession: House Republicans have done nothing they can run on.

"We have nothing. In my opinion, we have nothing to go out there and campaign on," the Arizona Republican said on the conservative network Newsmax. "It's embarrassing."

Anchor Chris Salcedo responded with a bemused chuckle. "I know," he said. "The Republican Party in the Congress majority has zero accomplishments." ...

The frustration over the lack of achievements boiled over for Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, around Thanksgiving when he went to the floor to deliver a fiery speech that gained national attention.

"I want my Republican colleagues to give me one thing -- one! -- that I can go campaign on and say we did. One!" Roy yelled.

"Anybody sitting in the complex, you want to come down to the floor and come explain to me one material, meaningful, significant thing the Republican majority has done besides, Well, I guess it's not as bad as the Democrats.'" ...

Yeah, TwinPac, it's so short-sighted to be a Trumper. It's obvious to me that their days are numbered.

I don't want one-party rule. I want a variety of voices participating in the national conversation, even if I don't always agree with them. But I can't see ever finding peace with the hateful brand of Republican we have now. The party has been so poisoned by Trump, MTG, Gaetz, and the line of thinking that put jagoffs like them and others in power, that I'm not sure it's a viable party going forward. For the party's sake, it would have to do some major house cleaning, and that day still looks a long way off.

They could have passed the border bill and bragged about that, but, nope, Trump wouldn't let them.

Livid? LOL ~ It's a little late for that.

"Livid" should be for the news that the RNC doesn't plan to share any campaign donations with them.

It is my opinion that Civil War II will not happen if Biden is reelected, but it is a MUCH bigger likelihood if, somehow, PO1135809 is elected. When PO1135809 says he wants to use the military against our own civilians, I absolutely believe him. He will force people to take sides, and if he becomes CiC again, will have the military behind him.
