Several locations of fast-food chain Taco Bell have closed their indoor dining room. The drive-thru windows at the restaurants will remain open for customers to order food. The closures mark the latest major fast-food chain shutting down its indoor dining room in Oakland. Last year, Raising Cane's near the Oakland Airport closed its dining room. Back in January, In-N-Out announced it would be closing the doors of the chain's only Oakland location because of the rise in crime.

Luckily, I have been assured by criminal apologists that food deserts are a figment of my imagination.

So I guess those people who are too poor to own a car, walked up to the drive-through, and were turned away because selling food to customers on foot is against restaurant policy because they could get killed, are also a figment of my imagination.

The "safety" here is not for workers or the customers.

It's safety for Taco Bell Corporation. Safety from getting sued for the crimes the customers are doing, to other customers and the workers.

My first thought when reading the headline was that Taco Bells may have been overwhelmed by an explosive diarrhea problem.

A distinction without a difference.

Thought crime was just a myth.

Take note. Every city, state, country where leftism thrives and hate is policy is a place where businesses close and crime will always over power what was likely once a decent friendly society. No one really connives to hate broad demographic groups like radical Dem leftists. It is what they do.

I also laugh at poor people who have no affordable food options left in their communities because they tolerate rampant lawlessness.

Back in the day, my wife drove through a Del Taco and asked what kind of meat was in some taco special. They said, "Del meat." She drove away.

Not a Taco Bell but no doubt similar nutritional standards.

They are closing to cut costs. Nothing to do With safety except for the safety of the CEO's wallet.

You believe Oakland, California to be a food desert?

Taco Bell was their only source for consumption?

What did people eat prior to Taco Bell? Did the city of Oakland spring up around the Taco Bell?

Oh no! What will people do without Taco Bell!!!!!!!

And the other restaurants that shut down in that same area also citing safety? Including the In-N-Out that claimed it was turning a profit but shut down a location for the first time in its 75-year history?

Man, the criminal apologists are about as deluded as the MAGAt insurrectionists it seems.

More about In-N-Out:
"The burger chain said in a statement that 'despite taking repeated steps to create safer conditions, our customers and associates are regularly victimized by car break-ins, property damage, theft, and armed robberies.'
Crime has indeed substantially increased in Oakland: Burglaries were up 23% and motor vehicle thefts were up 44% in 2023 compared to a year prior, according to Oakland Police Department data obtained by CNN affiliate KGO-TV.
'We feel the frequency and severity of the crimes being encountered by our customers and associates leave us no alternative,' said Chief Operating Officer Denny Warnick, in the statement." Notably, Warnick said its Oakland location was "busy and profitable," but it can't ask its customers or employees to "visit or work in an unsafe environment." Affected employees, which amount to about 100, will transfer to a nearby restaurant in San Francisco or receive severance.

So, sucks for the employees who lost their jobs. Lol!
