Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, March 08, 2024

Into the late hours of the night, Rolling Stone was inundated, sometimes completely unprompted, with messages from longtime GOP operatives, right-leaning pollsters, conservative Capitol Hill staff, MAGA lawyers, and even some senior members of Trump's own 2024 campaign absolutely torching Britt's absurdly over-dramatic rebuttal.

She sounded like a poor man's version of Sally Struthers doing a children's fund commercial.

The setting of the kitchen table - more so the kitchen than the table - for Britt's speech also left some seasoned Republican strategists confused.

In all fairness, still better than the GOP backup plan of Lauren Boobert from her bedroom under her sheets.

Bobby Jindal breathes a sigh of relief ...

20-30 years go, personality types like Katie Britt would never have made it off the casting room couch or past the occasional visit to the Oval Office bathroom-- and with last night's rebuttal, we can clearly see why.

MAGA followers love the fake, over dramatic garbage though.

Ironically they put the woman in a kitchen. Not so subtle hint there on their agenda.

In the kitchen? Lol. How about while giving birth on the table?

Should have had a man give the speech while women cooked and birthed children in the background.

Would have had higher ratings and likely a more coherent message.

Bobby Jindal is smiling from ear to ear now that his is no longer considered the worst SOTU response.

And she did that speech in the kitchen in a dress reminiscent of Martha's from Handmaids tale. And for those who've forgotten, the Martha's were the slaves/servants.

It took me a whole bag of pork rinds to get through that. What theeeee hell? She sounded like a testimonial from the 700 club

Watching the SOTU now and it's nothing like I've heard it described. It's a good speech and Biden spanks the ---- out of the GOP.

I'm guessing this response to the SOTU is worse than I've read (because despite what JeffyJringer says, the media isn't in the tank for the Dems) and is worth watching in a "so bad it's good" type of reasoning.

"spanks the ---- out of the GOP."

To coin a phrase, I guess one could say Biden "took them to the woodshed."

Well, to be fair, to talk about the state of the Union in honest terms would be to say we are not one country, we are one economy, and the big boys are doing great, but the rest of us at the bottom are destined to suffer and die in terrible heat and poverty. For three men to have more wealth than the bottom half of the economic pyramid says it all, but seeing as how the truth is never to be spoken by Republicans, she blathered as she could.

Think about it. This person had the arrogance, and lack of intelligence, to think that thousands of people wouldn't be fact-checking her speech and her stories after she spoke.

If you didn't view the link in #20, I suggest that you open the Link. The bull the Senator threw up in her drama, did not happen:

1. In America, or anywhere near the US/Mexico border.

2. Did not happen during the time Biden was either POTUS or VPOTUS.

The film is short and worth your going up thread and seeing it.

Respect, WD

A convenient lie is as good as the truth to MAGA Republicans.

Senator Alabama Drama Queen forgot her audience was gonna be larger than the usual Trump Rally. This may have been the first time she has 'presented' her Toro-merd outside of her MAGA Bubble.

She has some splainin' to do.

But don't forget, MAGAs hate fact checkers.

@#7 ... Ironically they put the woman in a kitchen. Not so subtle hint there on their agenda. ...

About 20 years ago or so, I had Thanksgiving dinner at a table that included family members, including an in-law male adult who was born and grew up in the South.

About halfway through the dinner that male started a conversation with the line that ~a woman's place is in the kitchen making sure there is dinner on the table when I get home from work.~ He'd fit right in with the current Cult of Trump.

She was lying about the 12-year-old who was forced into prostitution by a cartel.

Happened 2004-2008 (during Bush) and didn't happen in the U.S., it happened in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Biden rebutter Sen. Britt blasted for recycling 20-year-old sex traffic story to attack border policy

- In her rebuttal to Biden's State of the Union, Republican Sen. Katie Britt of Alabama used what appears to be a sex trafficking victim's experience from the early 2000s to condemn President Joe Biden's current border policy.

- The victim Britt referenced was Karla Jacinto Romero, who was sex trafficked in Mexico from 2004 to 2008, twenty years before Biden became president.

- Journalist Jonathan Katz first pieced together Britt's presentation of Jacinto Romero's experience in a TikTok video.

Agreed, she may have fabricated the story of her meeting with a 12 year old sex trafficking victim. But don't be stupid to suggest Karla Romero is the only one. Sex trafficking of children as young as 12 is more common than most of you realize. I've met dozens myself and it was the most heartbreaking part of my job. In some cases they are trafficked by their own mothers, who traded access to their daughters (or sons) for a rock of crack cocaine.

This is true. Just goes to show how lazy she and her handlers were to recycle a 20 year-old sex trafficking story when there are PLENTY recent stories available to refer to.

Republicans and conservatives generally not always speak truth but speak it far more than Dems wanting power.. Democrats have become liars seeking power. Many now support dividing our country ideologicay and ethically where elections are carried out by embedded interests seeking power. It might be best to divide for truth instead of power.

#32 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-03-09 07:36 PM | Reply

It appears that she was talking about Karla Romero , who she did meet with in a border town shortly after she took office. So that claim was true. What she left out was that the trafficking happened decades ago, in Mexico, so the story did not relate to Biden's border policies.

So it turns out the sex trafficking story happened under a Republican president, not Biden.
Good thing she's not a Christian bound by the Ten Commandments.
And she lied to her husband when she said she was going into the kitchen to make the sandwich he wanted.

Rape makes for great political theater.

I took one for the team and in the name of research watched this strumpet's performance just now.

I've been a southerner by choice for almost 50 years and married to an Alabama born and raised woman for most of that. The y'alls sounded forced and the "Bless his heart" could have been funny, but not in her hands. Her insincerity rose the more she tried to achieve the opposite.

As soon as I saw on the TikTok guy's piece that this mo-ron was traveling with Marsha Blackburn, I prepared for the worst and wasn't disappointed. I looked up Marsha Blackburn on Wikipedia some years ago and the only thing it said for spouse was president of the International Bow Tie Association. We are not dealing with rocket scientists.

Among many creepy moments in this senator's delivery was when she was going on about the rapes and the hours in there and the men who kept coming through the door. I thought she was going to have to be hosed off. If there's not a pool boy in her past, there's one in her future.

And what the hell were her kids' names? I've done enough research for the night.

She has a daughter named Bennet and a son named Ridgeway. Their entire lives people will be mixing up their first and last names. Is she going for the Country Club vibe? Or just setting them up in case they come out as non-binary?

I knew a guy named James weatherington, IV. He insisted that the IV not be left out when teachers were calling roll. After we became friends, he told me he didn't know who his Dad was. His mom was a prostitute and named him that because she thought it made him sound aristocratic.

(Note: I changed the name for privacy reasons)

She sat there with a straight face in a kitchen that has never been used and said that being a parent is the most important thing she does.

Yeah.

She thinks hiring those people who take care of her kids is more important than being one of the most powerful people on the planet.

Statements like that should be immediately disqualifying.
