That was a good SOTU speech. Enjoyable. Accurate. Some good goads.

Republicans sat there pouting through most of it, and then stupidly (thank you!) handing Biden an opportunity to rebut them and put them in their place. They didn't do themselves any favors with their behavior, including sitting there stone-faced and silent when there were lines that should have had them clapping for America, no matter what "side" you're on.

I love that he went after the "former guy" and the supreme court, which seriously deserved every last word he gave them. Astounding to watch that play out.

Excellent job on Biden's part.

Actually you are wrong, which is no surprise. I've watched them all - and there are many times during the SOTU that the entire congress was on their feet and applauding. This is the first SOTU that I can remember when the that did not happen. Bush had HUGE moments where everyone was on their feet. Do you not remember?

Where it really started to go sideways was with Trump's SOTU. Even then Trump got accolades from both sides for killing that ISIS leader, for saying AIDS was going to end, and at least one other thing. I'm sure you can research it and find out.

But last night?

Sorry, but no, your "both sides" argument to excuse what the GOP has become is just another lie from the party of lies.

I was addressing members of Congress remaining seated and silent even when the president, no matter who they were, praised America and America's ideals. Those ideals, BTW are liberty, opportunity, democracy, rights, and... equality. Just typing those out just now, those ideals that America has held for over 200 years, it seems obvious the GOP does not believe in at least 3 of the five.
