...The CEO of Hormel Foods...also acts as...president and chairman...

I'm sorry, I know nothing about business, but aren't these pretty much the same thing?

It's not the Spam I have a problem with, it's the ------- ghoul who is rejoicing that people are struggling to feed themselves and their families.

I can see how a good liberal, such as yourself, would point and scream "YOUR jUSt liek teh RAScismZzzzZzzzz!"

It's all your stupid ass has.

can a spam, dash of mustard, some pickle, onion, celery, mayo... spin it through the food processor for a couple pulses... just like deli style ham salad.

Though my kid did call it bachelor chow, I did raise him right on being able to pull off the Futurama reference so quickly.

Sometimes. It depends on the specific corporation's bylaws and division of responsibilities. If there's both then the President usually calls and controls meetings and the agenda, and the Chairman makes sure the agenda is executed.

I read that Spam made their first batch back in the 1930s and because of the pandemic, they decided to make a second batch.

Sorry, but that's funny.

Love me some spam. And, it could be a decent source of nutrition if it wasn't for the salt. With the amount of salt they add in, it becomes a lethal weapon.

Nope, all have different functions. But, they can be parallel. However, I believe there is old data out there and mentions that taking on the role of each only hurts a company. Since it's an easy way to save money though (at least CEO and President), it's common. What I've found in my later years is that they stay combined like that for 2 reasons...1. It gives them leverage to buy their way out of bad situations (e.g., blackmailing the CEO/President by another executive can use this for leverage and give the blackmailer the position...which is just one example of many, and 2. It allows them to create a simple solution for problems (e.g., stock price goes way down so they can say they 'hired' a new President), which doesn't actually mean anything as the new P is typically an existing executive but the optics look good to the public.

You may think those examples sound outlandish but you'd be wrong. That's business at the rich, executive level. They don't just think in just sales numbers, they think in terms of how to manage the bottom line for all circumstances that aren't directly sales related.

My parents grew up during the Great Republican Depression of 1929 and they would tSerioously, would you want them to stop producing it? I wouldn't. Do I eat it? No, but if I were hungry enough you bet I would and....so would you food snobs.

I love Spam and I will fight to the death anyone who besmirches it or the company that produces that salty ambrosia of the gods.

Eat rice and beans if meat is too expensive. Probably better for you (and the planet) anyway.

Why You Should Eat More Beans And Rice: "The dish is affordable, vegetarian (and vegan) and healthier than you may realize."

You're cooking it wrong. You should gently boil/simmer Spam slices in water to extract much of the salt before cooking.
