I'm not doubting the results nor the methodology.

But it's a little hard to swallow.

My daughter is likely headed to NYC after law school.

It's hard for me to accept she's "safer" and has better access to healthcare than what she's been provided back where she's from.

The rest of it I understand but safer? better healthcare? tough to accept that one......

Its an on average thing; a "child" who has just left home might have some exception to the stats because of the love and security there.

Just be glad she's not going to Texas or the deep South.

#14. Since you asked politely, I'll answer.

I have no problem with trans people. When I make a comment like, "What is a woman?" It's to mock people who twist themselves into knots trying to deny basic human biology.

I remember a time when a trans woman was a woman who was trapped in a man's body. That statement aligns with reality. What I see these days from the activists is so ridiculous that it warrants mockery.

#26 | Posted by BellRinger at 2024-02-27 04:02 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

I'll answer jeff's attempt at mockery.

What is a woman? That is very simple. Whatever an individual thinks a woman is, is what a woman is.

That means there are 8 billion or so definitions of woman.

Because "woman" means how you imagine a woman is, including their sexual organs, but also the cultural perceptions of femininity, ex. traditional or modern female roles

Now I know for a fact that this has been explained to you numerous times before.

You, also seem to understand that definition (I'll allow that you might not necessarily agree with that definition).

But, you choose to MOCK trans people (because have no doubt that is what you are doing)

So, you choose to MOCK a marginalized, at risk group.

That type of behavior is objectively disgusting.

You continue to express your ignorance (based on an historical perception), yet you claim to say that "aligns with reality" despite that perception essentially comporting with the current view of trans people, (a simplistic concept, but similar nonetheless)

And what you call "activists" are the following:

1. Trans people
2. Supporters of Trans people
3. Medical professionals
4. Advocates responding to right wing attacks.

who are all defending the at-risk marginalized group, who just want to live their lives. But you view them as people worthy of mockery.

You should learn a concept about "punching down"

And you wonder why people despise you.

JFC you are such a hyper emotional cooze.

A woman is an adult female. Always has been and always will be.

#28. You better get your facts straight. Nex doesn't appear to have died from trauma. After the altercation Nex walked to the principal's office, explained what happened and was sent to the ER as a cautionary measure. Nex was released from the hospital. The next day Nex died and cause of death has yet to be determined. Also, Nex admitted to being the instigator t throwing water on one of the three students Nex got into an altercation with.

This is where I give you an instruction on language. If you only read the initial reporting what you typed comports with that. You were factually wrong but you weren't lying. If you were aware of the more recent reporting that I summarized yet typed what you typed anyway, fully aware that what you were typing was false, then you were lying.

Do you understand the difference?

I want to say gays, but I think it's women's reproductive rights.

The GOP laid the groundwork to criminalize gay marriage when they repealed Roe.

But that ruling also opens the door to criminalizing birth control.

Coming at it from the other angle: In Vitro Fertilization has already been criminalized in Alabama.

White Women got the right to vote fifty years after Black Men. Don't underestimate how strony misogyny features in the conservative movement.

On a side note, by setting themselves up as the gatekeepers of deciding who's a woman and who's not, conservative men reveal how they think of women as some type of communal property, whose fate is to be decided by conservative men.

#74 | Posted by snoofy at 2024-02-27 06:43 PM | Reply

- but I think it's women's reproductive rights.

Yeah this, gays can wait.

They can hurt a lot more women, take control of them so to speak, by criminalizing their reproductive rights.

They may have already gone too far, though> just saw AOC talking about a Bill the House has offered for a law against, "recreational sex".

They might lose a few men's votes on that one... well, not a lot of Republicans, apparently.

Back then I had heard that AC Nielsen execs would meet with the Big Three networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) in their Dunedin, FL offices. Then when the Big Three had left the building, the Fox networks execs would be talked with.

Yeah, back then, Fox was considered a very minor network.

Only 2 Bluish to Purple states in the bottom 20...
All the rest Red States...

Hmm...does that tell us anything about the
Republican male?

Why are Democrats only worried about "women" when they promote Supreme Court justices that cant even define a women? What about men who are treated as second class Americans?

I'm sick of Democrats always dividing us instead of uniting us. Nobody should be treated better or worse or differently PERIOD, because of politics, gender, race, skin color, religion etc.

That means NO MORE special days or months based on politics, nationality, ethnicity, race, sex, LGTBQ etc. In fact no more such caucuses in Congress either that Dems promote.

If your goal as a woman is to be forced to have a lot of unplanned children, or be spared the stress and mental turmoil of actually being allowed to have your own opinion, the States in the Deep South are clearly the best!

Speaking of pregnant women being forced to do things by the state:

Pregnant women can't get divorced in Missouri.

As it stands, Missouri judges cannot legally finalize a divorce if a woman is pregnant.

Three other states have similar laws: Texas, Arizona, and Arkansas. While a pregnant woman can still file for divorce in Missouri, the court must wait until after a woman gives birth in order to finalize child custody and child support.

When it comes to domestic violence, there are no exceptions.

A woman is an adult female.

#29 | POSTED BY BELLRINGER

So a big deer with no antlers is a woman?

Also, what is an "adult"?

If a 10 year old girl goes on a shooting rampage and stands trial as an adult is she a woman?

Is it 26 when they go off of their parents' insurance, 18 when they can vote, 16 when they can drive, or when they start their menstrual cycle?

Just admit that we made it all up, Bellend.

What an odd thing to base your entire identity on.

Show me where in the Constitution the government has the right to define woman.

Best/Worst states?

I nominate Missouri as a worst state.

They have a law that prohibits pregnant women from divorcing their husbands, even in cases of domestic abuse.

The worst states for women are all red states.

I remember a time when a trans woman was a woman who was trapped in a man's body.

I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body :-)
