New Hampshire's Attorney General on Tuesday named a Texas telecom company as the source of an apparently AI-generated robocall impersonating President Joe Biden that told Democrats not to vote in last month's presidential primary.

The responsible party is now in the top 100 on the Trump 2025 pardon list, so long as they do Der Dotard another 'favor' or two before the general election...

fta:

" Investigators traced the source of the call to Life Corp., a Texas telecom marketing company, Formella said, adding that it appeared to be owned by a man named Walter Monk. Formella declined to comment on the potential motivations behind the call, political or otherwise, nor did he say much about the company or its owner.

"We are confident this is the source of the calls," Formella said, adding that the company has been "involved" with the Federal Communications Commission at one point."

I'm confused as to the motive. Biden kept himself off the ballot and the DNC referred to the election as "detrimental" and "meaningless". They didn't want this election to count, and a robocall discouraging turnout would seem to supporting that outcome. So who funded these calls, and why?

New Hampshire AG says Source of Fake Biden Robocalls Uncovered

Ok. Now what are you going to do about it? Another citation?

FEDUP

For openers, the New Hampshire A.G. sent Life Corp a cease and desist letter advising them that they are in violation of New Hampshire state laws.

The article also says that the New Hampshire A.G. has opened an investigation and is working closely with the FCC.

However, none of this answers my question. WHO PAID LIFE CORP?

So who funded these calls, and why? Walter Monk at someone's behest most likely of GOP/Russian connection. And Test Run.

I mean get real, it is totally a tactic of the GOP and Russians. The guy probably thought he had it all sorted out so they could spoof phone numbers and not appear to come from equipment tied to his company. Probably used a VPN but paid for services using company CC and also likely tied out to IP addresses because VPN doesn't mean untraceable - let's face it people like this usually are not that smart but are devious. The company is already known to law enforcement types - that means something.

#8 I get that, but why? How would these robocalls benefit the GOP?

Theory - Dean Phillips campaign got about 20% of the vote, concentrated in certain counties. He knew he could count on his base to turn out, so if he could convince Biden voters to stay home, he would have a stronger showing, percentage wise. If the calls skipped Phillips stronghold counties that may be a clue.
