The Supreme Court will hear arguments on March 26 in a case that could limit the availability of the common abortion pill mifepristone.

Conservatives need to get off the anti-abortion bandwagon. I'm a 30 year old fiscal conservative who absolutely does not align with this idea abortion should be illegal. Frankly it's none of my business, and taking a harsh stance from folks who may be fiscally conservative makes it impossible for them to be elected because more people feel the way I do than don't.

That is to say, leave this issue alone and focus on what's truly important. This topic damages any agenda.

I loathe to be pessimistic in politics but I can't shake the feeling that as long as Pols can fundraise campaign dollars off of touchy-feely soft issues then they won't ever actually be "solved," as they're more useful for fundraising and campaign banter.

Immigration, pro-anti-guns, pro/anti-choice, and more have been discussed for decades with little movement in any direction

You must be fun at parties!

You make a lot of sense with this take. The abortion issue specifically is so emotional it takes over some folks entire political outlook, on both sides. I find that sad, it's not an issue to waste time on.

And really, who cares what your neighbor does if it's not causing you harm.

I saw a protest sign that actually made sense as far as the abortion issue goes...

"My dog has more rights than I on abortion".

A woman doesn't need government in their decisions. It's not the government's body, it's the woman's. The government continues on whether it's a life and death situation for the woman. While some states have made plain that life and death is a cause for allowing, some don't even have that protection. Nor is rape considered a cause. What is wrong with this picture?

Let me guess:
Ariel Castro was your neighbor.

Sounds like the court is set to piss off even more women right before the election.

I do believe we must destroy Iran as it's currently known, but you'll also notice I advocate for exiting the Middle East entirely. They don't have the capability to damage American interests if we are no longer interested in the area.

Give them their earned mass retaliation for launching well over 100 attacks on our fellow Americans, and get out of there. No good will ever come from being involved with termites.

"Does everyone also get ice cream?"

Sure! But only those who can articulate adult responses within conversation get some. Perhaps you can afford your own?

You don't even understand why we are in the middle east.

You seem unaware of our adventures in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, etc.

I don't think you know me well enough to call me a pro-lifer you silly child you.

Common, you are coming across as one of the following:

1. An idiot
2. A troll
3. A person incredibly ignorant of recent and semi-recent history
4. An incredibly naive person.

Now, assuming you are 30 years old, I suppose you could be forgiven for being a tad naive, but you are on the cusp.

Educate yourself before you wreck yourself.

What's that look like.

Withdraw all our embassies? Cut all trade ties and ban all trade? Stop giving three billion dollars to Israel every year? Ban US direct flights to and from the Middle East?

Anyway, hopefully there's Neapolitan.

It's actually my understanding of history and our missteps in the Middle East / intervention that forms my philosophy of leaving the Middle East entirely. I know why 9/11 happened, it's called Blowback. A nice term our CIA quietly coined for the situation.

We withdraw our forces and any bases. If it's risky to keep an embassy because of terrorism or hostilities, yes you shut it down. Otherwise you would keep your embassy's and embrace diplomacy and trade where it's applicable (it's not with Iran). Always open to diplomacy and trade.

As it pertains to Israel, when I say something I mean it. I would certainly stop sending any foreign aid to Israel, immediately, along with every single other nations we provide free cash to. Their issues will never end considering their location and neighbors attitudes.

I was in downtown Kansas City the other day, and there are definitely black communities which could use the billions of dollars we provide to foreign nations. If we insist on massive deficit spending from both parties in congress at least let our own people in need benefit, and our economy as well.

Peace and love fellas, I think folks here are easily on guard against conservatives. Rest easy. I'm half a liberal, I just want our money to be tended to correctly.

The term blowback existed long before 9/11.

In formal print usage, the term blowback first appeared in the Clandestine Service History -- Overthrow of Premier Mossadeq of Iran -- November 1952 -- August 1953, the CIA's internal history of the 1953 Iranian coup d'etat, sponsored by the American and British governments, which was published in March 1954. --wikipedia

I'm a communications expert which has studied the topics of discussion immensely since I was a sophomore in high school. To impress you even more, all of it is done with my phone :)

If I was a sock puppet though I'd be Mr. Socco! We'd eat raviolis together.

#23 I doubt it. The 2020 sock puppet birth boom broke all sorts of records. Remember when sock puppets were not allowed? Now posters admit they are a SP account, the trolling/insults are essential to post counts. No one cares anymore.

But. Forget about it Jake.

Republicans would call that socialism and prevent it.
