Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, April 16, 2024

"Not to defend Trump, but to defend the people who still vote for him," Maher said. "Because what they see on the other side, to them, is even more dangerous. Because it's closer to home: My kid is coming home from school and he thinks he's a racist? He's five, what have you been telling him? My son thinks maybe he's not a boy.' And maybe that's true, that happens. Those kind of things are what they say. That's why I'm voting for Trump.'"

"A backlash to the pendulum swinging so far to the left," Couric said.

For "lots of people," Maher theorized, it's not as though they actually like Trump. "But he's all that stands between us and madness."

Y'all can rag on Maher to your heart's content. But it doesn't change the fact that half the voters in this country support Trump.

Some of them are utterly unreachable (e.g., Talibaptists, MAGAts, KKK, etc.) but there's about 5-10% in there that aren't and who swing elections. Ignore them at the Dem's peril.

#5 | Posted by censored at 2024-04-16 08:10 AM | Reply

I've said that had I been a Republican, God forbid, I might have voted for Trump over the GOP Est which his supporters hate as much as Dems do.

But hopefully I wouldn't have after reading up on his history of cons and poor business decisions and complete lack of any recognition of any value in anyone or anything other than himself.

And certainly not after he became a traitor to his country by trying to overthrow an election with Fake Electors and a riot in the Capitol building.

Maher is right to say, as Beau of the 5th has said, that there is such a thing as being too woke.

But all this is dealing with the extremes on both sides who are promoted by the Media because they make the most noise.

Most people fall in between, and conservatives would be much better off in the Dem party or as moderate Indies than continuing to suck up to someone who is the epitome of evil... the root of which is the love and adoration of money, and giving up power to those who have it.

Women in states with abortion bans are nearly three times more likely to die during pregnancy, childbirth or soon after giving birth, according to a report from the Gender Equity Policy Institute shared first with Axios.

But don't worry Americans are beginning to realize what Republicans think about women.

BTW, you never answered my question, which do you think is more important to women voters-reproductive freedom or trans issues?

The same people who threw rocks at black people and cheered on water canons and police dogs attacking marches are now whining that their kids are learning what they did.

No one is teaching your 5 year old that they are racist and responsible for this country's history. But Republicans are dumb enough snowflakes to believe it.

Hell, most of the book challenges are from people who don't even have kids in the school districts they are whining about.

How do you look at things?

How do you look at the unwanted child that the mother wanted to abort but the government prevented that from happening?

The way I see it, the mother tried to be responsible by getting an abortion, but that option was taken from her. It was taken from her to punish her. And it punishes the child too.

What do you see?

The further right Mahar tilts, the less creative and less funny he is. Comedy is best when it's punching up; see George Carlin. Reichwing comedy is all about punching down to make the genetically inferior audience feel better about their failed lives. Punching at the LGBTQ+ community isn't funny; it's mean, which is why MAGAts like it. Every comedian that has veered right is nothing but a sad bully.
