Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. told CNN on Monday that President Biden is a greater "threat to democracy" than Donald Trump. "I can make the argument that President Biden is much worse," Kennedy said. "And the reason for that is President Biden is the first candidate in history, the first president in history that has used the federal agencies to censor political speech or censor his opponent." "The greatest threat to democracy is not somebody who questions election returns but a President of the United States who will use the power of his office to force the social media companies Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, to open a portal and give access to that portal to the FBI, CIA, the IRS, the NIH, to censor his political critics," he added.

Of course, this is a ballwasher thread.

Let us know when agencies have been weaponized, sport, because until then this is just butthurt whining.

These people are so "censored" that any idle asshat can link to what's being "censored"

It takes a special kind of crack to make this logic work

What a shame. Jr. has turned out to be just another self-serving douche of a politician.

Trump obviously broke laws, some right in front of us or recorded for TV.

Law Enforcement and the Judicial System really have no choice to do other than act on them; Biden has nothing to do with any of that.

But that's the thing about the psychology of Conspiracy Theorists... it reaches into most all of their thoughts and actions.

@#2 ... because until then this is just butthurt whining. ...

The article reads like Mr Kennedy whining about being a victim, and his downplaying what fmr Pres trump has done and said he (fmr Pres Trump) will do.

Mr Kennedy is trying to play the false equivalency card when all he has is a trey.

Another in a long list of garbage pile threads by Jeff. Why am I not surprised.

My experience with conspiracy theorists led me to this conclusion.

People who have miserable lives but don't want to take responsibility or effort to improve their lives are drawn to Conspiracy Theories as a way to blame their problems on systems and reasons behind their control.

There are a few people who get into conspiracy theories for pure entertainment value, but for the True Believers it's a mythology that provides a scapegoat when what they really need is an education and a mirror.

Biden is a threat to democracy in general. He's too far gone to even consider as a serious candidate. Once again RFK is spot on. I'm seriously considering voting for him.

Apparently, RFKJr is back on drugs. I've seen how Meth works, the paranoia is palpable. As my mom sank into dementia she became incredibly paranoid about everything, but mostly her money, and became a physical threat to the workers in her assisted living place, until they put her on antipsychotics. The fact that RFKJr's family is coming out to publicly, and vocally support POTUS is all you need to know. It was not federal agencies that shut down his social media accounts, it was the media organizations themselves taking that step to shut down his dangerous conspiracies that GET PEOPLE KILLED! RFKJr needs some antipsychotics. His father would be so disappointed in him.

RFK Jr said Bill Gates is putting 5G chips in your brain to steal your bank account. This is straight up QAnon.

The deranged heroin addict has my vote.

Interestingly enough, this is how the systemic racism in the justice system narrative started out. The difference being, researchers actuallyed delved into the data and proved the conspiracy theory as being accurate. Dr. Michelle Alexander, author of "The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness" initially sought out to disprove systemic racism in the criminal justice system, but when confronted with the data and evidence, acquiesced that it's true.

Not supporting RFK Jr.'s suggestion here, for the record.

Emphasis mine:

Voters wishing for an alternative to Trump and Biden got one. Unfortunately, it's RFK Jr.

"Our campaign is a spoiler all right," Kennedy said last week while announcing his running mate, Nicole Shanahan, in Oakland. "It is a spoiler for President Biden and for President Trump."

But there's the rub: The same duopoly that Kennedy is running against ensures that he can be a spoiler for only one candidate. Hofstadter also said, "Third parties are like bees: once they have stung, they die." And the party they sting is the one they are closest too. As of now, it looks like Kennedy wants to sting leftward, at Biden. His choice of Shanahan--a progressive, young, Asian American, California-based tech lawyer --is one indication. Another: Timothy Mellon, the biggest donor to Kennedy's Super PAC, is also the biggest donor to Trump's. It seems unlikely that spoiling Trump's candidacy would be his priority.

"What Is the Cause of Spasmodic Dysphonia?

The exact cause of spasmodic dysphonia is unknown, however, most cases result from a trigger in the brain and nervous system that can affect the voice.

Sometimes it is caused by psychological stress."

One wonders if the psychological stress associated with paranoia and conspiracy theories might be the cause of his disease.

And if he's taking Botox shots to his neck, which is one of the treatments, or is he paranoid about more than virus vaccines?

Shouldn't there be a quote in the title of this propaganda. No evidence.

@#15 ... You've been shown on countless occasions and you always condescendingly deny it without EVER providing any counter-factual evidence to support your claim. ...

It is up to the one making the assertion to provide the evidence to substantiate the assertion.

If no evidence is provided for an assertion, then no evidence is needed to counter that assertion.

"You've been shown on countless occasions"

Just point out any of the 88 remaining indictments you or I could do without fear of legal repercussions. If you can, I'll agree with you there's a two-tiered system of justice.

But if you can't, just admit YOU'RE the one who wants two tiers. If not, you'd be shouting "LOCK HIM UP" from the rooftops, since you or I would be rotting in jail if we stole classified documents. Meanwhile, Trump is vowing to WEAPONIZE the DOJ if he gets back in office.

So once again, your pretend Dem is ALMOST as awful as the Republican we all witnessed.

"The weaponization goes WAY beyond Trump"

What a riot.

You still can't answer: Which one of the 88 indictments could you or I do without legal repercussions?

Until you can, and do, you haven't even proven DOJ weaponization has gone TO Trump, much less beyond.

Kennedy is not far off on this one.

Biden's little attempt at a "ministry of truth," the attempts to influence what can and cannot be said on social media are insidious attacks on liberty at its most basic level - freedom of thought, expression, and information. They bring to mind both Mussolini defining fascism as the merger of government and corporate power, and the old quote about those who would give up a little liberty for safety deserving neither.

Trump IS less dangerous in this manner. He's a bull in a China shop. You know what to oppose. But Dem partisans will just jump on the train of whatever the party platform is, no matter how it's changed from what they opposed just a few years prior under a Republican. Just look at how concern about the Patriot Act, FISA courts, gag orders, and all the other tools a truly fascist nation would want at its disposal just went away when Obama took the place of Bush.

It's never about principle, only party. And party is only about power, never relinquishing it.
