"I cannot in good conscience endorse Donald Trump in this campaign," said Pence.

How about in bad conscience, like when he agreed to be Trump's Veep.

The Republican 43rd President won't endorse Trump.

His VP won't endorse Trump.

The 2012 Republican nominee won't endorse Trump.

His running mate won't endorse Trump.

Trump's own VP won't endorse him.

His last AG won't.

His last Sec Defense won't.

Wake up, America!

Only 4 out of 44 former Trump cabinet members have endorsed him - Meadows, Ric Grenell, Matthew Whitaker, and Russ Vought. The people who know best how he conducted himself as president almost unanimously think he is unfit.

Dozens served in Trump's Cabinet. Four say he should be re-elected.

Several of Trump's former Cabinet members are coy about whether they support his bid to return to the White House. Others outright oppose it.

Donald Trump may have put them in the most powerful and prestigious jobs many will ever hold, but few who worked in his Cabinet are rushing to endorse him in his bid to return to the White House.

NBC News reached out to 44 of the dozens of people who served in Trump's Cabinet over his term in office. Most declined to comment or ignored the requests. A total of four have said publicly they support his run for re-election. Several have been coy about where they stand, stopping short of endorsing Trump with the GOP primary race underway. Then there are those who outright oppose his bid for the GOP nomination or are adamant that they don't want him back in power.

It's worth noting that he didn't just say he couldn't endorse Trump.

He added that he wouldn't vote for him, that Trump had basically betrayed their previous conservative agenda, and is cozying up with China.

That's more than a non-endorsement.

What changed?

Who know? Pence goes with whatever way the political wind is blowing.

So I guess we should consider this change a good omen?

...'because Trump isn't conservative enough'. Let that sink in.

"It should come as no surprise, I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year," he said in an interview with Fox News. Pence, who served as Trump's vice president, said the former president "is pursuing and articulating an agenda that is at odds with the conservative agenda that we governed on during our four years."

Trumpy and the gang had a "Conservative Agenda"?

LOL. That's some funny stuff. I don't care who you are!

Even the Republicans know this is a potentially catastrophic change in governmental norms and ideals.

Trump is openly asking to be Dictator.

He's running his campaign on it.

It's all for broke with him.

Many Republicans are leery of this, even if they really want to get in charge again.

It's not patriotism, it's self interest.

Revolutions always eat their own.

Trump reelected; will go after anyone he senses threat from.

Nobody will really be safe.

On some level even many Republicans sense this.

All his favorite role models are Dictators.... Putin, Kim, Xi, Milei, Orban.

Not to mention his bedside book companion Adolph.

None of which invaded any other country when Trump was president. As soon as Diaper Joe was installed, weakness was in the water - that coupled with his coziness with the MIC.

How embarrassing for you... having the intelligence of backwards 5 year old.

Vlad wasn't ready to invade during Trump's first term, but he didn't need to worry about that if Trump got a second term, because Trump wouldn't have helped NATO; Trump would have pulled the US out of NATO first, as he still threatens to do.

But when Trump lost, Putin had to go it alone, and look where that's gotten him.

But hey, you proud America Firsters are still the same Nazi Lovers you were before the Second World War, when you were willing to watch the Axis Powers take over the rest of the world... before they came for America.

Which your ilk will apparently still welcome.

@#19 ... None of which invaded any other country when Trump was president. ...

Maybe the question your current alias needs to ask itself is, why didn't Pres Putin invade and try to annex Ukraine during fmr Pres Trump's first term?

Or perhaps Pres Putin thought his election interference would assure a second term to fmr Pres Trump, and during that second term fmr Pres Trump would go through with his desire (or obedience) to dismantle NATO?

Trump Discussed Pulling U.S. From NATO, Aides Say Amid New Concerns Over Russia (2019)
www.nytimes.com

... There are few things that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia desires more than the weakening of NATO, the military alliance among the United States, Europe and Canada that has deterred Soviet and Russian aggression for 70 years.

Last year, President Trump suggested a move tantamount to destroying NATO: the withdrawal of the United States.

Senior administration officials told The New York Times that several times over the course of 2018, Mr. Trump privately said he wanted to withdraw from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Current and former officials who support the alliance said they feared Mr. Trump could return to his threat as allied military spending continued to lag behind the goals the president had set.

In the days around a tumultuous NATO summit meeting last summer, they said, Mr. Trump told his top national security officials that he did not see the point of the military alliance, which he presented as a drain on the United States.

At the time, Mr. Trump's national security team, including Jim Mattis, then the defense secretary, and John R. Bolton, the national security adviser, scrambled to keep American strategy on track without mention of a withdrawal that would drastically reduce Washington's influence in Europe and could embolden Russia for decades. ...

Good question. The better question is why he waited until Preznit BaskinRobbins took office to do it.

NATO.

It would be bad for Trump's re-election chances to put him on the spot to withdraw from NATO as an election year issue.
