When asked by Axios whether he was coming under pressure from colleagues over his decision to resign, Buck replied: "I think it's the next three people that leave that they're going to be worried about."

"Buck's announcement that he will leave the House months earlier than originally planned presents a major challenge to Rep. Lauren Boebert, his fellow Colorado Republican. Boebert was seeking to replace Buck as representative of Colorado's 4th Congressional District at the November election, stepping aside from the state's 3rd Congressional District which she currently represents. However, the Republican firebrand won't be able to stand in the June special election to replace Buck unless she steps down from her seat. Posting on X, former GOP congressman Adam Kinzinger said: "By resigning early, Ken Buck is giving an advantage to anyone but Lauren Boebert. She cannot run in the special election since she already occupies a seat, so another person will be elected to serve out the term, and it won't be Lauren. Smart."
Hah! That must have been icing on the cake for Buck.
What a sheetshow the GOP MAGAts are.

Is this all part of a GOP to have enough members resign so they lose the majority just a few months before the election so those who remain can try to blame the new Democratic majority for the failures of the MAGATS cult?

I hope this move keeps Qbert from winning Buck's seat.

JOHNNY HOTSAUCE
The old majority can fire away. Hopefully the Democrats will finally have the majority and Jeffries will be the new Speaker.

She announced she wouldn't be running in the June special election.
The other candidates for June and November live in the district. The winner of the special election or another candidate from the district will win in November.
Boebert's screwed.

She's still running for that district in November. And...

I wouldn't discount the stupidity of voters in CO CD 4 until the November election is over. That district is definitely Trump Land. Buck is leaving because he'd probably get primaried anyway.

I don't have time to do the research right now, but I seem to recall a district jumping case in California that didn't go so well. Something about voters not trusting a candidate that flips and flops round to get elected. I have a name in my mind, but I don't want to give somebody a bad rap if I'm wrong.
Maybe somebody else can remember.

I posted on another board and here that perhaps the House Democrats may gain the majority BEFORE the November elections, and as time goes by that comment may prove yet to have been prescient...

I hope she loses. Up until this turn of events, she was leading the race in the runup to the CO Congressional primary, with isn't until June 25th. But this may change everything. Since I live in her current District, I'd love to see the ---------- unemployed.

There are something like 9 candidates for CO-4. Every one of them are conservative Republicans who're from there and known there except Boebert.
Carpetbagging vs many other candidates voters in CO-4 are familiar with shouldn't go well for Boebert.
