In a stunning moment today, Joe Biden used his second U.S.-Mexico border visit as president to urge Donald Trump to work with him on passing the toughest immigration law in decades.

More from the article...

... Why it matters: Biden campaigned on ending Trump-era border policies. Now he's accusing Republicans of standing in the way of his efforts to halt a historic migrant crisis.

- - - "Instead of telling members of Congress to block this legislation, join me," Biden said in Brownsville, Texas.

- - - Biden prodded House Republicans to "show a little spine" and take up the Senate border deal they helped torpedo earlier this year. ...

Show little spine?

House Republicans?

I mean, really...

@#2

Yeah, in spite of the publicity-laden events at the border.

What really happened?

Have the Republicans in the House decided to pass the border bill the bipartisan Senate gave to them? A bill basically written by Republicans.

Or will the House Republicans continue to obey the orders of dictator Trump, and deny the bill that they have seemed to ask for?

Shriekback - This Big Hush (1985)
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt...

genius.com

...
Is there a fire in the sky?
Is there a moon up there?
Is there anything alive now?
This darkness is what I hear
This is a breathless silence
A moment out of time
I see your face in the shadows
The telltale signs are in your eyes

[Chorus]
More than I can hold in my hands
Running through the gaps like water
Aching with a passion inside
Deep as the river
All desire, the ashes and the fire
Turning this night inside and the light from you
...

Whoa ... they don't write lyrics like that anymore...

Donny Dementia ain't got the balls to do it.

He needs the problem. Listening to his dementia fueled yammering of "they're coming from countries we don't even know of, speaking languages that no body knows" I just wonder aloud, who actually believes this trash? If this was Biden, he'd be eviscerated by the media for speaking such blatant gibberish. The media gives him a pass because they're accustomed to listening to a compulsive liar with a third grade comprehension level prattle on with obvious word salad gibberish.

And amazing that 60% of 30% of the nation thinks this is the best person lead us on the world stage.

Democrats and their media fail to enlighten the public that the Senate Bill was an immigration bill for cheap labor and Dem votes, not a border security bill.

For example it allowed 5000 non Americans into our country per day. Then it was up to Biden's digression about enforcement. There is nothing in that bill that said immigrants and immigration should be to benefit America, not free education, healthcare, and not paid vacations and food at crony NGOs and owners of luxury hotels.

We need to see actual face to face PUBLIC debate between Biden and Trump (the principals on this) not media hacks that have no stake and only opinion. We need to see more such public debates between the political class directly on hot issues. No more opinions by MSNBC or Fox News or NPR.

Let every American see and hear the supposed "best of our country" debate and defend the hottest issue of "immigration" personally. I don't want to hear from the "handlers" or the media. Biden chose to do this. Biden caused this and let him him defend it. Trump says he can fix it promptly. Let him tell us how.

If even just 1% of the inmates in Trump's concentration camps die (it will be higher), that's 100,000 souls.

I'm pointing this out not because you care. MAGA doesn't care about dead people unless it's themselves in danger of dying.

""Instead of telling members of Congress to block this legislation, join me," Biden said in Brownsville, Texas."

Instead of spreading disinformation, try joining the people with common sense in understanding the situation. Reps want foreign aid to be a separate issue so they voted this down. Now, whether or not you personally agree that they should be separate issues isn't the problem. The problem is Dems are using disinformation to say Reps don't want border security when we ALL know Reps are the ones who have been wanting it for a long time and Dems continue to not be serious about it. Just be truthful with America and say you don't agree they should be separate issues, don't spin stuff to meet your narrative.

"Immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than other U.S. residents, multiple studies have found."

This means NOTHING at all in the context of the conversation. If our national crime rate is 100 (just as example) without illegals and is 125 with illegals, yes...they cause less crime. But, not having illegals would make our crime rate still at 100 and not 125. Simple math with simple logic. Why are Dems so ready to accept the increased crime that illegals cause? Why are Dems so ready to ignore the murders, rapes, etc. of illegals? Especially since they refuse to accept the fractionally increased levels of suicide by LGBT people and say Reps have blood on their hands because they won't take a tougher stance, and there are other anecdotes in the same context.

- Reps have blood on their hands

Yes! They do as they prefer to follow their Cult Leader when he tells them not to do what they were prepared to do... agree on a plan for the Border they had worked out and gotten much of what they wanted.

All so he and they could have an Issue to divide America for the Fall Election.

There's real blood on their hands, and much misery besides.

Republicans are the ones who insisted that any aid to Ukraine must be tied to immigration reform.

Republicans threaten to reject Ukraine aid unless Democrats agree to tighten U.S. immigration laws

Legislation originates in The House.

Which means Republicans won't be trying actual border control legislation.

Speaking of Ukraine, remember that time Congress legislated aid to Ukraine, and then Trump illegally blocked it, and then Trump got impeached.

Legislation originates in The House.

Does it really? How come the Senate keeps passing 'packages' first and then trying to present them to the house? How come it's called Biden's bill to secure the border?

The budget process:

-Creating the U.S. federal budget-

1. The budget planning begins a year before the budget is to go into effect.

2. Federal agencies create budget requests and submit them to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

3. OMB refers to the agencies' requests as it develops the budget proposal for the president.

4. The president submits the budget proposal to Congress early the next year.

5. Proposed funding is divided among 12 subcommittees, which hold hearings. Each is responsible for funding for different government functions such as defense spending or energy and water.

6. The House and Senate create their own budget resolutions, which must be negotiated and merged. Both houses must pass a single version of each funding bill.

7. Congress sends the approved funding bills to the president to sign or veto.

Legislation and budgets are different functions. To understand how laws are passed, there are educational resources.

Every new president's first year budget is the previous president's last year budget. Repubicans are experts at claiming credit for successful budgets, left to them by Democrats and blaming Democrats for disastrous budgets, left to them by Repubicans. It's a trope, now, like how deficits only matter when a Democrat resides in the White House.

Dementia Don had four years to:

Fix the border
Fix the economy
Fix the middle east
Destroy ISIS
Fix N. Korea
Fix healthcare
Fix infrastructure
Fix prescription drug prices
Fix companies moving overseas

He ended up passing a tax cut for billionaires, racked up the greatest job loss record since the depression, killed a million americans, told us to drink bleach and golfed.

Lots of golf.

Oh and he cut a deal with the Taliban that let 5000 terrorists out of prison that took over Afghanistan, incited an overthrow of our election, stole top secret documents and showed them off in his bed bug infested golf motel and clogged a few -------- with them.

I don't want him anywhere near anything important.

WASHINGTON, Feb 4 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate on Sunday unveiled a $118 billion bipartisan border security bill that would also provide aid to Ukraine and Israel, but it promptly slammed into opposition from the House of Representatives.

"Republicans are the ones who insisted that any aid to Ukraine must be tied to immigration reform." How radical would it be if our llegislators simply stopped bundling bills?. Require each bill to focus on a single issue or problem. Bring simple, straightforward legislation to the floor for an up or down vote, then on to the next one. Imagine that.

HR2 requires walls to be built where walls aren't needed. Vast waste of money, as we see daily.

It also ignores the root of the problem: American hirers.
Is that your answer? Waste money and don't address the problem???
