The mother of Nex Benedict -- the non-binary Oklahoma teen who was assaulted in a school bathroom and died the following day -- is raising doubts about statements released by the local police.

2. Woods said his heart goes out regarding Nex's death, but then spoke in reference to LGBTQ+ people overall.

"We are a religious state. We are going to fight to keep that filth out of the state of Oklahoma, because we're a Christian state. We're a rural state. We want to lower taxes, and for people to live and work, and to go to the faith they choose," he said.

The Lieutenant clearly has no clue how to conduct an investigation or talk to the media. While I'm not yet convinced there is a coverup, I can't blame the family for suspecting one. This Lieutenant should be immediately replaced by someone with someone with actual investigative skills, preferably from outside this podunk town.

What was the cause of death if not from injuries sustained during the hate crime?

How is this any different from when police would cover up the deaths of black people?

The view of some in Okiehomie is that nothing more will be done to vigorously investigate the death of this young person, that the other students involved will receive a week's after-school detention and the school school district, police and government officials will hope the matter goes away. Sadly, that may just happen ...

Seems Oklahomans haven't changed much it seems. Instead of killing off the Osage they have switched to killing off non binary children. Which is ok because God said so. Apparently.

There is zero reason to believe anything stated by police ever. They are trained to lie and courts allow them to get away with it.

Highlights:

No toxicology report is back yet. The investigator is just "assuming" something is going to be there.

The medical examiner did NOT say the fight was not the cause of death.
