This is the stupidest argument ever that I hear time and again. Then when someone does something like happened here they say "well they weren't law abiding citizens were they?" Want a great example of a "law abiding citizen" shooting up the place? Just look at the shooting at the Olsteen cult's megachurch. She had serious mental illness - not grounds for taking her guns in Texass. Nothing the family could do even though they kept trying. No red flag law. No desire to put one in place. Then she shoots up the place, gets killed and her 5-year old son gets shot too. I am sure the off duty cop thought he had her back (snark).

In 2021, Missouri enacted the so-called "Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA)" which subjects local and state law enforcement officers to fines of $50,000 for helping to enforce a federal gun law. Accordingly, law enforcement in the state are no longer enforcing federal gun laws including laws that keep guns out of the minors and young adults. On March 7, 2023, a federal court declared SAPA unconstitutional but has allowed the law to stay in effect pending appeals..

..so theres that. MO doesnt enforce laws to keep gun away from minors.

MO was a decent place to live until the GOP took over.

The GOP took over, or the NRA took over the GOP?

My guess might be that the good people of MO were always leaning towards the GOP.

But the takeover and ownership of the GOP by the NRA is the real issue.

As a corollary to that...

The apparent recognition of the NRA's ownership of the GOP and Pres Putin's infiltration of the NRA ...

Which amendment covers your right to drive -------?

No amendment covered your fake right to own a gun until 5 partisan lawyers deleted half the 2A, so ---- off ------.

Anyways, that wasn't the point. We know you have a fake right to own a gun. We're talking about logic, not rights. You argued you should be exempt from gun restrictions, not because of the 2A, but because violence in an allegedly blue city shouldn't create restrictions that apply to you. That is appallingly stupid.

Must be why the US government went and immediately confiscated all the guns after they passed the bill of rights, right -------? You make Fat Fani seem intelligent.

Why would they?

They didn't protect horses and plows with the Constitution. Did they confiscate all horses and plows?

This is a stupid argument even from you.

Because if it is not a real right, that is what EVERY government has done in history - from Japanese banning samurai from carrying swords to Australia and the Euro-trash neo-Nazis taking away weapons now....also happened in Vietnam and Cambodia.

But, it DIDN'T happen in the US because EVERYONE ALWAYS knew what the words meant until the low-T liberals came around hellbent on taking away rights from law-abiding citizens.

My advice to you 'male' leftists posting on here - hit the gym, fix your diet so you lose that 40lbs of belly fat, sleep 6-8 hours nightly, stop smoking pot and drinking alcohol - and within 6 months, you will become a conservative. Liberals are that way due to hormonal imbalance - this is how you fix that imbalance.

Ignorance abounds.

.

""A fraud on the American public."

That's how former Chief Justice Warren Burger described the idea that the Second Amendment gives an unfettered individual right to a gun.

When he spoke these words to PBS in 1990, the rock-ribbed conservative appointed by Richard Nixon was expressing the longtime consensus of historians and judges across the political spectrum."

Or because we have a system of laws and respect them.

Or because we have states and those states have the national guard.

LOTS of countries have tons of guns and still have civil wars or coups including Vietnam and Cambodia.

The 2nd Amendment NEVER meant every citizen had a right to a gun until VERY recently.

Try again, idiot.

What really saddens me is how numb I've gotten to this violence.

My first thought after learning the situation around the shooting: "well at least this wasn't a predator targeting civilians. "

Like somehow two low life's spraying and praying at each other into a crowd flowing a dispute is somehow better than if they had planned to kill civilians at the parade. Do I actually believe the parents of kids that were shot, or the husband, kids, and parents of the woman killed in the senseless violence are somehow comforted by the lack of evil forethought.

It's disgusting that the nation ... .. well really me I guess ... has arrived at the point where the source of the violence is somehow consolation.

There has to be something we can do to stop this ridiculousness. The thought of this happening to my kids who are right in the age group of half of the victims terrifies me.

Intentionally targeted or not. Forethought or not. The impact of the bullet is the same.

Just terrible.

#98 it amazes me that second amendment lovers always ignore the other half of the amendment.

"Well regulated militia." Those participating in a well regulated militia shall not be infringed. If they wanted it to be everyone, the amendment would just say: "the right to keep and bear arms by the people shall not be infringed."

Why would they discuss well regulated militias if it has no bearing on the rest of the statement?

#102 Congratulations, your reading of the Constitution comports with that of every single federal judge to confront the question until the federalist society coopted our judiciary. The Heller and Bruen cases are abominations that belong in the dustbin of history the second SCOTUS is controlled by even halfway sensible people.

I am not numb to it - I just don't really care when Dems shoot other Dems in deep blue -------- cities because that is what they voted for so it must be what they want. I just choose not to live or visit these deep blue -------- cities because it is not something I support.

Is your problem that daddy didn't love you OR that step-daddy "loved" you too much? You have serious mental health problems and encouraging suicide should result in your permanent banning.

I normally would not respond to a pedophile but I will address you this one time - this includes suicides. Frankly, if someone wants to off themselves, that is their choice. This does not impact me like MURDERS, which is people care about violent crimes. You should still be permanent banned from this site because: 1.) you encourage suicide and 2.) you are a vile piece of ----. I can't even fathom how horrible your life must be to have you act in the way that you do.
