Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The far-right is desperate to make "trans terrorism" a thing. So desperate, in fact, that it's willing to push out incorrect or false information just to shore up their baseless narrative that trans people are inherently dangerous.

The shooter was also being treated for schizophrenia, according to a Facebook post by her ex-mother-in-law, Rabbi Walli Carranza. Carranza described her as a "very sweet and loving woman," and railed against the fact that Texas does not have a "red flag law" in place that would allow concerned family members to remove firearms from people believed to be a danger to themselves or others. The shooter legally purchased her AR-15 in December 2023, police said.

"[The shooter] had a particular kind of schizophrenia that caused her to become violent," Carranza told KHOU, a CNN affiliate. "She threatened her husband, my own son, and we still couldn't get intervention."

In addition to having an extensive history of mental health troubles, the shooter has a long criminal record which includes, among other things, forgery, theft, assault of a detention officer, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

The far-right has been laser focused on the concept of "trans terrorism""just one prong of their all-out assault on LGBTQ rights"ever since a transgender man carried out a mass shooting at a Christian school in Nashville where he was once a student.

Didn't she have "Free Palestine" painted on her gun? And the kid was a human shied (dead now). NBC says they found anti-semitic writings in her house.

www.nbcnews.com

She went after the Spanish only sermon, and was from Guatemala as of 2003 or something like that, legal immigrant.

So a South American Woke Nazi, not a trans. We've seen those before.

Texas allowed a literal ------ person to buy an AR15. Their policies got these people killed. Theres zero denying it so they have to retreat into a delusional world where wokeness is the problem, therefore the shooter needs to be trans.

I mean, how can an alias destroy its credibility in just one post?

If you need an example, look at #5 on this thread.

I, in the past have, let's say, humored that alias regrading the UFO things it has posted.

Those posts were fun, and had a modicum of facts behind them.

But in #5, the alias has just gone, well, my opinion is bat-crap crazy.

Lamplighter, if you go into a store to buy a gun you MUST pass an FBI background check. So unless it was a Fast and Furious Obama gun, this failure isn't Texas' but the Federal Government.

Furthermore back to topic at hand, even the Houston Chronicle identified the shooter as Trans. So interesting that telling the truth is "misinformation."

Lamp, my best friend has his FFL; he manufactures and sells them. One of dementia don's first acts in office was to overturn an Obama policy that people who are claiming social security for "mental illness" could not buy a weapon.

Yet they always say "It's not the gun, it's the person" and then when laws are discussed to prevent mentally ill people from getting weapons they scream "NO!"

Facts First: It's complicated. The Obama administration's rule, which took effect two days before Trump's inauguration, restricted people who required help managing government benefits and had a mental impairment from buying guns. That includes those with eating disorders, cognitive impairments and depression. Multiple disability groups, along with the American Civil Liberties Union opposed the regulation.

#31 | Posted by sitzkrieg at 2024-02-14 10:20 AM | Reply

The ACLU, along with 23 disability groups opposed this rule and supported the bill repealing it. "The thousands of Americans whose disability benefits are managed by someone else range from young people with depression and financial inexperience to older adults with Down syndrome needing help with a limited budget," the ACLU wrote in February 2017, noting the wide range of individuals affected by the rule. "A disability should not constitute grounds for the automatic per se denial of any right or privilege, including gun ownership," the ACLU said in a separate letter that month.

Why? Because I don't condemn people who have different imperfections than I do?

Jesus and Paul would both be kicked out of rwing churches today for being tolerant of others.

Jesus said...

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."

Paul said...

"You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things."

Imperfections are common among us, we all have them, and they are all equally imperfect.

What we see now are self-righteous hypocrites condemning people who's imperfections are somewhat different than their own.
