She's not alone in her concerns.

Pelosi, Obama, Hillary, and many other Dems... all are in favor of FDR-ish policy, but they don't want to destroy their chances of getting steps in the right direction from the majority of voters by demanding end results immediately.

Think of the voters as your conservative old Grampa who might be willing to give you a car for your 18th birthday... as long as you don't demand a new Corvette. Take the used Pontiac and then werk your way up.

Or think of them as as the majority of workers who, I think it was Danforth that pointed out, are not particularly ready to give up pretty good company insurance for maybe not as good public insurance. Turn O-Care into a alternate program comparable to ins to that they already have, insure the ones left out, then offer it to everyone.... for example.
