Getting sprayed by a skunk seems to be a rite of passage for country kids. I was sprayed several times, once when I was out coon hunting and my moron dogs tried to tree a skunk.

We all smelled pretty bad. I got home and my mom was still up and wouldn't let me in. Had to strip off in the barn and go down into the basement to try to wash off the stink.

Ahh, the joys of coon hunting. The real sport of redneck working class hillbillies.

Got a basset named Myrtle. Theoreticly she can swim. Right to the bottom of pool. Now she sits on the pool steps on a hot day. She's not so smart either.

But then neither is my son. A couple of weeks she started barking near the little woods by my home. my seven year raced over to find out what was there. Turned out to be a skunk.

My wife, being a good caring human being devoted to helping people, (unlike me, who prefers to apply firepower to solve "issues") works with a range of developmentally challenged kids. Aspergers is amazing. These kids really don't develop the social skills needed to interact. And, from what I have seen and read, these kids are above average to greater intelligence. They don't have the scripts running through thier head that help them undertstand societal norms. My wife rehearses vingettes to help them learn how to act.

Mainstreaming the kids is almost a requirement everywhere. The "least restrictive environment" is a condition laid down by law. These kids are constantly in a state of conflict with thier classmates. Often times they don't even realise there is an issue with thier classmates.

If self awareness leads to the potential of personal growth then maybe something positive can occur for all involved in this incident. Either that or only the lawyers benefit.

I like the idea of shipowners paying for thier own security. Seems like a part of price of doing business. Heck a ten man security crew on a supertanker outfitted with quad 50s and 2cm guns would handle anything the pirates have. Shoot'm up and steam away while the pirates acquaint themselves with some of the more aggressive forms of sea critters.

I wish I could have been on the bridge of the Indian frigate when the pirates threatened to sink them. Now that would have been a pricelsss moment.

There was a little issue with this down in the Caribbean back in the 80's. Between governments and private contacters not so much these days. Pretty much cleaned up now. Piracy will always exist. It is a true crime of opportunity. The oceans are kind of on the big size.

These pirating acts have been occuring from 30 miles offshore on out. They are now operating in the alternative shipping lanes designed to take them far off the Somali coast, avoiding the Gulf of Aden, and around the Horn (arrgh, shiver me timbers).

Maybe its time to float a few Q ships in to bait them and kill them. Dead men tell no tales. And pirate no more ships.

I am fairly sure we have interrupted more than a few weddings since the advent of aerial delivery systems...think Hiroshima, Dresden etc.

But the fellows at the combat outpost post just screwed up big time. They will be a lesson on not what to do. BTW, combat outpost are just that. They are transitional, temporary defensive sites from where to conduct ops.

But still, they defeated a force three times thier size. Not bad. Glad they had assets avaiable to help them out. Otherwise it could have been really bad.

I can't imagine why Christians would fear the rapture. Great thing if you are a Christian. Time to pop smoke and go to a better place.
