"'Rush, are you kidding, this theory of yours about Sanford?' No, I'm not. My first thought was he said: 'To hell with this. The Democrats are destroying the country. We can't do anything to stop it. I gave everything I had to stop it here in South Carolina. My wife's left me, the hell with it. I'm going to enjoy life what little time I've got left.' Folks, there are a lot of people that are looking at life, they're saying screw it. They're saying screw it. Before Obama takes away all their money, before Obama takes away their house or the economy takes away their house, there are people who are simply saying the hell with this. They've tuned out. I'm just going to try to enjoy it as much as I can." -- Rush Limbaugh
Today is the 95th anniversary of the Ludlow Massacre where units of the Colorado National Guard, using machine guns, fired into the tent city set up by striking mine workers for themselves and their families (after the mining companies had thrown them out of their company owned houses) outside Ludlow, CO. 20 people were killed, including 11 young children (a total of 75 people were killed, the vast majority being strikers or their family members, before the strike was over). The National Guard had been called in after the owners of the coal mines in the area, including one owned by the Rockefeller family, demanded that something be done to clear the camps which were located along the routes into and out of the mines.

During the 2008 financial crisis, several in the media claimed that ACORN contributed to the housing crisis by bullying banks into irresponsible lending to minorities. But according to housing experts, very few subprime loans were made under the Community Reinvestment Act.
During the 2008 presidential election, the media falsely linked ACORN's voter registration campaign to allegations of voter fraud, yet the actual instances of illegal votes being cast as a result of registration fraud was extremely rare.

A woman called 911 recently from a Dallas-area restaurant merely to complain that she did not receive the extra shrimp she had ordered -- and she may get away with the "emergency" call without facing punishment, KDFW-TV reported on Tuesday.
"I always get the shrimp fried rice, so I said I'm going to get extra meat this time," the woman told a 911 operator on Monday. "But he didn't even put extra shrimp in there and I asked him, Can you give me extra shrimp or can you give me my money back?'"
She added that the employee at A&D Buffalo's in Haltom, Texas, "sort of hollered so I said I would call the police."
