I hate to put a political spin on this, but it's what we do on the DR, right? :) SA is very conservative, yet they passed this law whereas extremely liberal Austin just 75 miles away refused to.

San Antonio, "very" conservative? Really? More like dead even, and most recently slightly to the left.
Austin. "Extremely" liberal? While it is certainly true that there are more liberally minded people in pockets of Austin, especially compared other Texas cities like Vidor, I suggest you look into the political representatives of Austin.
