A controversial search warrant for a Fox News reporter's private emails was approved "at the highest levels" of the Justice Department, including "discussions" with Attorney General Eric Holder, reports Michael Isikoff of NBC News. Females are up to 40 percent more likely to develop a mental health condition than males, according to a new study to be published by Oxford University Press. Research finds that women are nearly 75 percent more likely than men to have suffered from depression and approximately 60 percent more likely to report an anxiety disorder. "There is a pattern within -– women tend to suffer more from what we call 'internal' problems like depression or sleep problems," researcher Daniel Freeman told The Guardian. "They take out problems on themselves, as it were, where men have externalizing problems, where they take things out on their environment, such as alcohol and anger problems." read more

Glenn Kessler, Washington Post Fact Checker: In the days since the Internal Revenue Service first disclosed that it had targeted conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, new information has emerged from both the Treasury inspector general's report and congressional testimony Friday that calls into question key statements made by Lois G. Lerner, the IRS's director of the exempt organizations division. ... In some ways, this is just scratching the surface of Lerner's misstatements and weasely wording when the revelations about the IRS's activities first came to light on May 10. But, taken together, it's certainly enough to earn her four Pinocchios.
