A draft proposal from federal wildlife officials would eliminate protection for gray wolves across the Lower 48 states, ending a decades-long recovery effort that has restored animals to a small portion of their historic range. Wolf specialist John Vucetich of Michigan Tech University said wolves occupy only 15 percent of their historic range at present -- and need human help for more. "It's very unlikely the wolves will make it to places like the Dakotas and the Northeast unless the federal government provides some kind of leadership," he said.
I'm never pooping in the ocean again.
I hate to admit it, but the closest I've been to the ocean was Puget Sound, and I wouldn't submerse myself in that water unless I was on a sinking ferry.
If, and only if, a flushing toilet is not available, I always bury my poop. Something my parents pounded in to my brain, and something I pound into my kid's brain. I didn't know why then, but I know now.
