What a stupid fucking headline. Romney claims he is going to fix middle class problems and that policies are already in place to address poor peoples problems. Romney never tells anybody how he's going to fix middle class problems, of course, but he keeps promising he will. Many Americans (primarily party loyalists) are stupid enough to confuse this pointless blather with an actual solution to the problem.

A few years ago I was driving to South Bend Indiana. In Chicago it was sunny, in Gary it got cloudy, past LaPorte it was whiteout conditions, caused by lake affect snow. I couldn't see anything in front of me, and I knew I couldn't stop.

The NATO and G8 meeting here in Chicago are going to be big. If they were at all smart, they would have done them in February, when it's mighty cold.

You can't tell from the article. If he was discharged to the care of his parents doesn't mean he didn't receive some form of hospice care at home. There is no way of knowing the exact circumstances. I read the article.

It doesn't even mention hospice care. I base my comments on the information in the article.

By the way, in all probability, the right decision was made. If hospice or home health care was delivered at home, this young man received appropriate care.

You didn't read the article, or you didn't read it carefully.

It says:

Jordan Allen, 14, who was transferred to another facility five days before Texas Children's early July deadline, then in late August was discharged to the care of his parents, died at home Monday.

He was sent home with no care at all. That's just wrong.

I was in 4th or 5th grade (1968). My class was doing something, that required us to learn square dancing, all week. I didn't want anything to do with it, so I refused to participate. I wasn't rude, and I didn't do anything other than refuse to dance.

At the end of the day, I finished taking the flag down, in front of the school, and took it into the office to fold it and put it away. The Principle called me into his office, and chewed me out for not square dancing. Then he gave me a spanking, bare handed, not with the paddle.

When my mom picked me up, I was enraged. She had never seen me that mad at anyone before, she got a kick out of it, but didn't do anything.

The next day in class, there was no more square dancing for some reason, and we never did anything like it again.

Sad story.

You'd think they would have sent him to hospice care, instead of just sending him home to die.

In a situation such as this, part of the care the hospital is providing, is to the boy's family. Seems like the hospital, let them down.
