Jon Favre directing Robert Downey Jr as the millionaire/ death merchant/ scientist Tony Stark who sees the light and becomes a force fer good despite being troubled by inner darkness and alcoholism?
Except that the film isn't entirely accurate about Stark. It takes a while before he "sees the light". Regardless of the minor inaccuracies here and there, I thought the movie was good. I got a kramer of it off the net, so I'll have to go to the theater to actually enjoy it.
Something I've always wanted to see done with comic book movies might actually take place. Crossing story arcs from one character to another. Since they all live in the same "universe", it only makes sense that the Incredible Hulk and Iron Man bump into each other. Downey Jr, as Stark, makes an appearance in the new Hulk movie from what I've seen. And then there's the hint of an Avengers movie too.
There's only three more movies I really want to see this year, then the way for The Watchmen starts. Man I get impatient about these things.
Iron Man was probably may favorite comic book character as a kid. I hope the movie is good. A lot of the comic book movies have flat out sucked a la The Hulk, The Punisher, Daredevil, et al.
As far as I am concerned, until this summer, no Hulk movies have been released.
As for the punisher, a friend and I always end up talking about it. I have two examples for what The Punisher should have been like. One is A Man on Fire. The other is Boondock Saints, sans holyrollerness.
Daredevil was on the other day and I couldn't bare to watch it. I used to like it, but now Afleck makes my brain hurt.
