The Trump administration unveiled additional details Monday evening about its new oil deal with Venezuela. The administration said in a press release that the Pentagon's Office of Strategic Capital will take a 35 percent equity stake in North American Blue Energy Partners, a private company that is Venezuela's second-largest private oil producer.

American consumers are still reeling from the past few months' deadly cyclospora outbreak linked to iceberg lettuce sourced from Taylor Farms facilities and recalls of frozen blueberries for potential E. coli contamination.
Pierre Damas Bel, a 20-year-old Haitian immigrant, stepped into traffic in Springfield, Ohio, Monday and was killed. His family believes it was a suicide after he lost his Temporary Protected Status. Ohio State Highway Patrol officials reported that Bel had pulled his car over on the right shoulder of I-70 Monday morning and then walked directly into oncoming traffic. A senior prosecutor in New York Attorney General Letitia James' office has accused his superiors of wasting taxpayer money by targeting President Donald Trump and his allies without legitimate investigative grounds, according to the New York Post. Assistant Attorney General Daniel Wiesenfeld made the allegations in a weekend email sent to roughly 2,000 employees in James' office, arguing that its resources were being used to pursue "convenient public enemies" instead of crimes affecting New Yorkers.

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll is resigning, the White House confirmed Monday, after months of friction with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. A source familiar with the matter told CBS News that Driscoll had brought up to the Trump administration his concerns surrounding the Army's transformation efforts and the fact that Hegseth has pushed out some of the generals who were responsible for the transformation. Driscoll is the latest high-level military official to exit. Navy Secretary John Phelan left his role earlier this year, with Mr. Trump saying Phelan "had some conflicts with some other people."
