A group of survivors of the Hamas militant group's deadly Oct. 7 attack in Israel alleged in a federal lawsuit this week that two leading pro-Palestinian groups in the United States are a propaganda front working to recruit "uninformed, misguided, and impressionable college students to serve as foot soldiers for Hamas."

From the attorney post ( www.gtlaw.com ) it looks like plaintiffs claim that those groups are acting as propagandists for Hamas, which is US designated terrorist organization.

The claim is "violation of the [U.S.] anti-terrorism act." PDF of the complaint.

There is no First Amendment right to aid terrorists, AFAIK.

It's Snowflake as hell.

There is No connection between protesting Israeli excesses and supporting Hamas.

This is Israel trying to control US citizen's right to protest their crimes.

It's really a sovereign issue. Do we let a foreign power control our legal rights to association and freedom of expression?

In today's climate of legal overreach this BS may have a chance to prevail.

It's a shame it's come to this. Everyone must bow down to the fee fees of those poor "Victims".

Even when they slaughter without limit.

The Blowback when it comes will destroy Israel. It will be mostly because people get sick of this privilege and Tribalism.

Correct!

Based on your #1, though, I thought that were suggesting that even if it was true that those groups were assisting US designated terrorists (Hamas), the groups would still be not liable based on a 1st Amendment defense.

From the Complaint, the statute states: "[L]iability may be asserted as to any person who aids and abets, by knowingly providing substantial assistance, or who conspires with the person who committed such an act of international terrorism."

Lots of requirements that the plaintiffs will have to meet, but I think that it's a Constitutionally-sound statute. I understand, of course, if the pro-Hamas crowd disagrees.

Any and all criticism of Israel will be met with legal as well as other means challenged. Let's face facts. You can't criticize Israel or else you are either labeled as an antisemite or a terrorist supporter. It's abhorrent to the nth degree.
