An emergency alert notification sent out on Saturday claiming a "ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii" was a false alarm, according to the Hawaii Office of Emergency Management and a tweet from one of the state's Democratic congresswomen. "BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL," the emergency alert read. ... Hawaii officials on Saturday announced that an alert saying a missile was headed for the state was a false alarm after people received a mobile alert detailing an imminent threat. Sen. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) issued a tweet, saying she had confirmed with officials the alert was false.

Donald Trump has backed off the idea of visiting Britain next month to open the new US embassy in London amid fears of mass protests.

President Trump grew frustrated with lawmakers Thursday in the Oval Office when they floated restoring protections for immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries as part of a bipartisan immigration deal, according to two people briefed on the meeting. "Why are we having all these people from ---hole countries come here?" Trump said, according to these people, referring to African countries and Haiti. He then suggested that the United States should instead bring more people from countries like Norway, whose prime minister he met yesterday.
