President Trump began the morning raging at "Alex" Baldwin over his Saturday Night Live impersonation and declared that trade wars are "easy to win." Trump tweeted, "When a country (USA) is losing many billions of dollars on trade with virtually every country it does business with, trade wars are good, and easy to win. Example, when we are down $100 billion with a certain country and they get cute, don't trade anymore-we win big. It's easy! Boston Dynamics' well-mannered four-legged machine SpotMini has already proved that it can easily open a door and walk through unchallenged, but now the former Google turned SoftBank robotics firm is teaching its robo-canines to fight back. A newly released video shows SpotMini approaching the door as before, but this time it's joined by a pesky human with an ice hockey stick. Unperturbed by his distractions, SpotMini continues to grab the handle and turn it even after its creepy fifth arm with a claw on the front is pushed away. ... The firm helpfully notes that, despite a back piece flying off, "this testing does not irritate or harm the robot". read more

President Donald Trump is telling the nation's governors that he would have run into the deadly Florida high school shooting "even if I didn't have a weapon." The president is again finding fault with officers who didn't stop the Florida gunman who carried out the massacre earlier this month. Trump says the deputies "weren't exactly Medal of Honor winners." He tells 39 of the nation's governors, "I really believe I'd run in there even if I didn't have a weapon." Despite attending a military academy from which he graduated in 1964, Trump chose to avoid serving in the Vietnam War. He received five deferments to avoid being drafted: four for being a student and one for bones spurs in his heels. read more
