The Philadelphia Police Department announced it won't grease up the city's light poles for the Super Bowl, so Pornhub is offering them 110 gallons of lube. Earlier this month, the city of Philadelphia decided to grease up some of the city's light poles with Crisco in an attempt to thwart any unruly sports fans from climbing up and inevitably injuring themselves following the NFC championship game. Apparently, the Crisco didn't work all that well -- instead, it became a challenge for anyone daring to test their luck at the poles. Also, Crisco is flammable, so the whole thing posed a serious safety hazard. "Unfortunately it became a thing ahead of time so people thought we were daring them to topple the grease," Sgt. Eric Gripp, police spokesman, (Gripp, nope you can't make this stuff up).
Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, tendered her resignation Wednesday following a bombshell report that she bought thousands of dollars in shares in one of the world's largest tobacco companies less than a month after being named as the nation's top health official. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, who was sworn in two days ago, accepted Fitzgerald's resignation because she was unable to divest from those interests "in a definitive time period." The current principal deputy CDC director, Rear Admiral Dr. Anne Schuchat, will serve as interim director until a replacement for Fitzgerald is named, according to HHS. Fitzgerald, an OB-GYN doctor and former Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner, also owned stock in other tobacco companies prior to assuming her role at the CDC in July. read more
Former UFC superstar Ronda Rousey made her official WWE debut on Sunday. After Asuka defeated 29 other women to win the first-ever women's Royal Rumble match, Rousey's music played, and she confronted Asuka and pointed to the WrestleMania 34 sign. Simultaneously, ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne confirmed Rousey and WWE agreed to terms on a contract. "This is my life now," Rousey said. "First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt. When I first met with Triple H, I told him, 'There are other things I can do with my time that'll make way more money, but I won't enjoy nearly as much.'"
A video in which a Southern California high school teacher is heard slamming members of the military as "the frickin' lowest of the low" in a classroom rant to students has gone viral. El Rancho High history teacher Gregory Salcido -- who also serves as an elected Pico Rivera city councilman and was once mayor -- even goes so far as to refer to those who are in the military overseas as failed students who had no choice but to serve, "Fox & Friends" reported Sunday. "Think about the people you know who are over there," Salcido is heard saying. "Your freakin' stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They're dumb s - - - s. They're not high-level bankers. They're not academic people. They're not intellectual people." "They're the freakin' lowest of our low."
Not wishing myself older but I wish I could have seen her in concert.
