Clownshack, two things:
1. I was predicting gun violence in toto, not shooting sprees.
Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore.
No matter how you dice it, growing up in a healthy loving family prevents the mental instability needed to go shoot a bunch of random people. Having a loving family provides you with the mental support needed to overcome hardships and disappointments which are necessary to drive someone to going out on a shooting spree. Growing up in a loving family improves self esteem and self worth. People who love themselves and are confident with who they are don't shoot up schools, movie theaters, and crowds of people.
2. At least one boy raised with father went on a spree, according to the headline, which is limited to the biggest 27 events.
Simply having a father around doesn't result in a healthy loving family. Abusive and neglectful fathers are just as bad as no father at all.
Presumably he's not the only one. Presumably #28 through #30 had fathers too, and that's why she stopped counting at 27.
Presume all you want. Having a father and growing up in a healthy loving family isn't the same thing.
You're losing the debate. Healthy families are the cornerstone to healthy lives as teenagers and adults.
