Obamacare has led to higher costs and fewer health insurance options for millions of Americans. How has it impacted you? Share your story with the President.

"Shocking Photo of DACA Recipients BURNING American Flag in Protest!" declared a September headline on the website Truthfeed. The article came a day after Donald Trump said he would halt the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which protects 800,000 young, undocumented immigrants from deportation. Trouble is, the image, which shows a few unidentified protesters holding Mexican flags amid the remnants of a burning Trump piñata, wasn't a DACA demonstration, nor does it show any burning flags. The picture had been taken 16 months earlier at an anti-Trump protest in California. It was a typical article for Truthfeed, a website with hidden financial backers that went online in April 2016 as Trump worked to finish off his challengers in the Republican primary. read more

Michael Flynn's guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with Bob Mueller's investigation was without doubt terrible news for President Trump and his inner circle: Flynn knows more than anyone about their dealings with Russia. But, but, but: This doesn't necessarily mean Trump is in personal legal jeopardy, much less on the road to impeachment. The atmosphere of hysteria is dangerous. We saw this yesterday when ABC News reported that Flynn planned to testify that he was directed by then-candidate Trump to make contact with the Russians. That sure didn't sound true. Hours later, ABC significantly softened its report, saying one source says Trump asked Flynn to contact the Russians during the transition about fighting ISIS. Huge difference. read more

The news that former national security adviser Michael Flynn has reached a cooperation and plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller could not come as less of a surprise. Reports of Flynn's bizarre behavior across a wide spectrum of areas began trickling out even before his tenure as national security adviser ended after only 24 days. These behaviors raised a raft of substantial criminal law questions that have been a matter of open speculation and reporting for months. His problems include, among other things, an alleged kidnapping plot, a plan to build nuclear power plants all over the Middle East, alleged violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) involving at least two different countries, and apparent false statements to the FBI. In light of the scope and range of the activity that reputable news organizations have attributed to Flynn, it is no surprise that he has agreed to cooperate with Mueller in exchange for leniency. read more

Nicole Nealy, NBC News: He's trashing the transatlantic rapport Reagan built. With Thatcher's help, America changed the world. Trump has no such vision for the "shining city upon the hill." President Trump's admirers often like to compare him to former President Ronald Reagan, another political outsider who took Washington by storm. Laura Ingraham's book, Billionaire at the Barricades: The Populist Revolution from Reagan to Trump lays out the case in great detail; the theory has even been embraced by conservative stalwarts like Pat Buchanan. But there are also plenty of ways in which that argument falls apart. read more

imo, a thorough discussion of Le Affaire de Flynn, well worth the read.

I might add just one minor observation or two of mine... I saw Mr Flynn a lot throughout the Trump campaign. Quite frequently (if not nearly all the time) Mr Flynn seemed to be right at candidate Trump's side. In other words, and to my point, Mr Flynn heard what candidate Trump said and what was said to candidate Trump. Throughout the campaign. Mr Mueller could use this to determine the truth of what others say to Mr Mueller.

Additionally, Mr Flynn was given the position of National Security Advisor in Pres Trump's administration, even given a warning from fmr Pres Obama.

Obama warned Trump about Flynn, officials say

...Former President Barack Obama warned then-President-elect Donald Trump about Michael Flynn during their Oval Office meeting two days after the election, current and former administration officials confirmed.

Obama and his staff felt Flynn was problematic and prone to what they thought of as crazy ideas, and had fired him from his job as head of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Obama relayed that to Trump during the 90 minutes they spent together.

Obama hadn't planned to spend time in the meeting criticizing Flynn, but it came up as part of the conversation when the topic of personnel came up, according to a former Obama administration official. Accounts differ on how extensive he got, with one person familiar with the meeting saying that Obama forcefully told Trump to steer clear of Flynn....

@#75 I thought the Senate had procedures in place ...

The do and the did. But they elected to bypass those procedures in order to get something passed.

The Republicans needed to pass the tax bill to benefit their wealthy donors.

...Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.) had been describing the flurry of lobbying from special interests seeking to protect favored tax provisions when a reporter asked if donors are happy with the tax-reform proposal.

"My donors are basically saying, ‘Get it done or don't ever call me again,' " Collins replied....

@#73 ... The Republicans just screwed the middle and working class ...

... [The] Joint Committee on Taxation and the Congressional Budget Office indicates that, by 2027, by 2027, Americans earning the princely sum of between $40,000 and $50,000 will, collectively combined, pay $5.3 trillion -- trillion -- more in taxes. Americans earning over $1 million, by the same study, will receive $5.7 trillion in tax cuts....
