I work in accounting and I've seen there is one thing we simply can't do anything about.
Cash. Either you have it or you don't.
You can downplay economic risks and build up hope and generally hide the reality of just how bad things are.
But if you don't have the cash in the bank to pay your bills, that's when the rubber meets the road.
You know...in many ways debt is like poison.
In the real world we use poison for good things. We can use it to kill off things we don't want and promote the things we do.
In the economy we use debt to reduce the effects of poverty and spur economic growth.
But in excess both poison and debt kill everything.
