A nonprofit who believes coffee could cause cancer has persuaded businesses, by way of a lawsuit, to issue warnings on all ready-to-drink brews sold in California. At least 13 companies, most recently 7-Eleven, have settled with the Council for Education and Research on Toxics (CERT) following its 2010 lawsuit, and promised to add warnings to served coffee, CNN reports. read more

The growth of a homeless day camp at the halls of civic power speaks to the breadth of Los Angeles' burgeoning homelessness problem. The number of those living in the streets and shelters of the city of L.A. and most of the county surged 75% -- to roughly 55,000 from about 32,000 -- in the last six years. (Including Glendale, Pasadena and Long Beach, which conduct their own homeless counts, the total is nearly 58,000.) read more

"It ... increases the risk of a constitutional crisis by setting the stage for subsequent actions by the White House to fire (Special Counsel Robert) Mueller or, as now seems more likely, Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein," Representative Adam Schiff said in an opinion piece in the Washington Post. read more

Joe Kennedy III was chosen to give a speech in response to President Donald Trump's State of the Union speech on Tuesday, January 30. However, not long after Kennedy appeared on television, viewers couldn't help but notice that the corners of his mouth appeared wet. As you can probably imagine, it did not take long for social media to light up with posts about Kennedy's lips and mouth, many wondering if he was drooling or "slobbering." "Why is he foaming at the mouth?" one Twitter user asked. "Tomorrows headline: Kennedy drools through entire rebuttal," wrote another. read more

Tiffany's and tents. Neiman Marcus and needles. Macy's and mental illness. A San Francisco Chronicle columnist writes about a hotel manager who struggles with his customers' number one complaint -- the sad homeless population. Making it worse is the amount of wealth that surrounds those who live on the streets. The hotel manager said he has stopped trying to explain away the city's unwillingness to address the problem. One reviewer on TripAdvisor wrote glowingly about his hotel's pool, its proximity to the cable cars and the easy walk to the Ferry Building. But it ended with a jolt. "Seeing homeless men in wheelchairs without shoes in the winter, women with infants on the streets, young men and women on the streets doing drugs, it was painful," wrote the reviewer. The manager responded: "I am sorry about the street scene ... But unfortunately our city has failed to address the issue." read more

But the image with the light behind Prince while holding his guitar ... humm

That wasn't from the Superbowl ... but you get the idea ...

This isn't a big deal, Trey Gowdy did

It is important for the American public to know if the dossier was paid for by another candidate, used in court pleadings, vetted before it was used, vetted after it was used, and whether all relevant facts were shared with the tribunal approving of the FISA application.

While this memo raises serious concerns with the FISA process, I have been and remain confident in the overwhelming majority of the men and women serving at the FBI and DOJ.

As I have said repeatedly, I also remain 100 percent confident in Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The contents of this memo do not - in any way - discredit his investigation.

twitter.com

Trey can say this because having seen the actual application, knows the Russian Investigation (whatever that is) has nothing to do with the FISA application or warrant which amounted to wiretapping a Presidential Candidate and President Elect.

As I have stated; publish it, publish the warrant and attached affidavit. Something some people can't seem to grasp. The only way to have a FISA warrant to spy on an American, the FBI must show the target is an "agent of a foreign power," not merely in contact with a foreign power. So whom where they targeting?

The law makes it difficult to show someone is an "agent of a foreign power" to make sure it is not misused to spy on Americans..

All this was put in place to prevent another WaterGate ....

I agree with David French's analysis.
#10 | POSTED BY JEFFJ

Jeff with all due respect, French's "analysis" is already known, and reported by everyone including foxnews back in NovDec timeframe.....
www.nytimes.com

But by obfuscation (shiny object), or by omission he leaves out the most egregious part of the paragraph.

"but there is no evidence of any cooperation or conspiracy between Page and Papadopoulus"

This maybe the most important paragraph. This paragraph is pointing to the fact that the FISA application had nothing with the Russian investigation. I could understand the JUMPING for joy if there was evidence on cooperation, or conspiracy, then the FISA application might be warranted without the "dossier" ....

Its obvious why left leaning, flipflopping Russian fearing people want to make a big deal about it, but its already known. The real reason the paragraph exists is to UNTIE the idea that the FISA application to bug TrumpTower, a presidential candidate, president elect, had anything to do with Russian investigation already going on.

Gates is cooperating with Feds...
www.cnn.com

So probably they had a joint defense agreement with Manafort's lawyers, so when Gates decided to cooperate, the lawyers would be in violation of the agreement, so bye bye, which is also why its sealed...

But spin it so the world of Trump is on fire, like you do, I do enjoy it .....

Just curious Snoofy did you sit like the rest of the Black Caucus when America learned African American and Hispanic unemployment are at all time lows?
twitter.com

Just how vested are you in African Americans when you can't even applaud their success?

Not much, I suppose, from now on Snoofy when you use African Americans in your diatribes about wealth inequality, you might as well be talking out of your keister.

Obama was very divisive. No doubt. But Trump is more divisive.
#42 | POSTED BY JEFFJ

How? I can't think of more divisive than "punishing our enemies" .... but hey I am sure snoofy can find something.

Sure Trump is divisive, when one side promotes church, family, police, military and the national anthem as good things, and the other side considers they are from a bygone era, what do think will happen? division ... hello ... How does one approach extremism without being divisive? Just curious...

The 49ers parted ways with Smith on the heels of Colin Kaepernick's "flash in the pan" 2012 campaign, and Kansas City is looking ahead to its future with soon-to-be sophomore signal caller Patrick Mahomes.

Anyhow this was the funniest part of the trade ....

Next season Smith wins the Super Bowl Despite KC?
#2 | POSTED BY WHATYOUNOAH

Doubt it :) While an Ex49er going to the SuperBowl would be great! But now that the 49ers have foisted Kap out to pasture, and found a gem that hopefully they can keep. Look to the 49ers next year to win the SuperBowl.
