stalled a single mile of new wall in a previously fenceless part of the U.S.-Mexico border in the 30 months since President Trump assumed office, despite his campaign promise to construct a "big beautiful wall."

Back in February of this year I saved this comment from Fox News.

Pres Trump:

... I'm thrilled, because we're supplementing things and moving things around and we're doing things that are fantastic, taking from far less important areas, and, uh, the bottom line is we're building a lot of wall. ...

Shepard Smith:

That's incorrect. He's been saying it for a while now, but it's simply not true. The facts are these: workers have replaced and repaired sections of the existing wall and fences, but so far they have not built anything new. Construction is set to begin on a 14 mile extension in the Rio Grande valley later this month, and this just-announced deal in Congress could create 55 miles of new fencing and barrier - no wall. That's if it passes in Congress and if the President signs it. Then, it's 10 miles less than what lawmakers offered the White House last year, long before the government shutdown....

At his rally last night, the President said the wall in El Paso, where he was having te rally, turned a violent city safe. County officials passed a resolution condemning the President of the United States for that inaccurate assertion. You see, in 2006 when Congress authorized the El Paso section of steel fence, violent crime levels were at historic lows. They remain at low levels, as the Republican El Paso Mayor explained yesterday.

From what I've read since then, Pres Trump's lies aside, very little, if any, wall has been built.

The thing is, a coast-to-coast wall that Pres Trump wants is not the answer. It is merely a phallic tribute to Pres Trump so people will remember him.

First it was a wall, then a barrier, then a fence, next it will a line drawn in the dirt with a stick.

@#3 ... First it was a wall, then a barrier, then a fence, next it will a line drawn in the dirt with a stick. ...

Pres Trump is using the crisis at our southern border for his own political purposes. Do not expect anything he says about what is occurring at the border to be true.

Pres Trump lies. A Lot.

Especially when he feels his base will devour anything he says, as with the southern border.

A Fox News host said that what Pres Trump said "that's a lie" when he was reporting upon what Pres Trump said.

Good grief.

(if I say what I really think... OK I will: ---- - - -- ---------- --- - -- ---------- )

It's not for lack of trying.

@#4 ... It's not for lack of trying....

Oh please.

He couldn't even get the funding passed when the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress.

Just how far does a President need to stray from rational thinking when his own party controlling Congress denies his requests? (especially in the current environment of Presidential harassment?)

Do I need to cite the June 2018 article again? Are you really that dense?

What?!?!

Fat Nixon just tweeted that hundreds of miles of wall have just been finished. To prove it, he tweeted video shot in 2016 of a section of wall replaced during routine maintenance as proof.

Tell me again how the democrats had control of the House and Senate in 2017 and 2018.

Prepare to show your work.

Oh, is he still "trying" to get Mexico to pay for it?

Doesn't matter. He'll present previously approved projects and maintenance or upgrades as "proof" he kept his promise.

The mouth breathers will lap it up and will remain impervious to facts no matter what.

Oh and a guess as to why nothing has been built-border security isn't nearly as bad as it's been presented nor will more walls/barriers than we already have Dona damned thing.

Just like the link I posted said, despite people like nullischittian sneering at it because it was "better business bureau approved".
