Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Democrats who have called President Trump and his policies racist are now pointing fingers at one another on issues of race. Allegations of racial insensitivity are flying between the 2020 Dem contenders, as well as between House Democrats, raising concerns that internecine squabbles over identity and race are tarnishing party leaders and distracting Democrats from their goal of ousting the president in 2020.

Longtime Democratic leaders are facing new scrutiny from their younger peers over their past records. And they're being called out for their rhetoric, which in some cases has offended the younger generation of liberals.

Frustrated lawmakers say the backbiting over race has gotten out of control.

"It's damaging to this party and the internal workings of the Democratic Party," said Rep. Wm. Lacy Clay (D-Mo.). "I can tell you it's not helpful." These controversies have Democrats shaking their heads over how they have reached the point of attacking one another over race.

Now I know why tigers eat their young.

Looks like the Progressive go to when losing arguments is now hitting the Democratic Party as a whole.

Ya think?

It is looking once again as if the Democrats are actively trying to lose in 2020.

Only when its destroying their own party do they say this.

There exists a hierarchy of identity grievances, and there is a struggle by these identities to get to the top of the "who is the biggest victim" heap.

Whats fascinating is Democrats see how it this "in fighting racist" name calling destroys the party, but not how it destroys the US.

Its a form of solipsism...

Racists projecting their racism turn on one another.

They're in self-destruct mode.

Karma is a ------

The Progressives have become so used to screaming "Racist" at everyone and everything that they have disagreed with over the past few years that they now have nothing else to debate with.

Now that they are resorting to playing this card within their own Party, the adults in the DNC are rightfully calling them for their bullshht.

It's a beautiful thing watching the Left eat its own. Kinda like Robespierre and Saint Just going to the guillotine.

I said I was sorry...

Does anyone know what happened to BoyDirkBadweekCooperStruan this time? I was thinking that KKK sockpuppet might have been him, but they write differently.

Regardless, like a bad rash, he will resurface in some manner.

Not to be outdone by leftwing race-baiting, the New Republic plays the gay card.

New Republic op-ed attacks Mayor Pete as the gay Uncle Tom

"Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes' short-lived tenure as owner of the New Republic appears to have done a serious number on the publication that was once the in-flight magazine of Air Force One.

Because it is publishing stuff today that no reputable outlet would touch.

On Friday, the New Republic published a meandering, nasty, and disturbingly personal op-ed by gay author Dale Peck, who attacks South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg as the "Uncle Tom" of the gay community. But instead of calling him "Uncle Tom," Peck calls the 2020 Democratic candidate "Mary Pete." Clever.

The article is every bit as reprehensible as it sounds, each paragraph worse than the last. However, there is one passage that stands out above all others for its sheer viciousness. That passage reads as follows -- it is not safe for work, and I would keep it away from children, the easily offended, and the faint of heart:

Subject of most every RoC thread. Odd coincidence, that.

What's Harvey Weinstein got to do with this, RightOCenter?

#14 That's quite a read!
Becket Adams sure has a chip on his shoulder.
Turns out he's also from South Bend.
I'm guessing either the two have a past, Becket Adams is very upset they don't.

It's a US political blog, hoser.

Suck it.

Interesting that you focus on the "chip" on Becket Adams' shoulder when he is calling out Dale Peck for a hateful and phobic article about Buttigeig, yet have nothing to say about Mr. Peck's attacks on "Mary Pete".

I guess you are cool with internalized homophobia.

"I guess you are cool with internalized homophobia."

I'd rather it be externalized, but it's not really up to me how homophones live their lives.

I should have written:

I think. Or maybe it was a lover's triangle? Who cares.

Whoever wrote the nasty part that got quoted told us a whole lot more about themselves than they did about Mayor Pete.

Justice Democrats did not vote for the 5 billion appropriations to CPB because Democratic leadership omitted any legislation that it will be used to alleviate the detainees. It's as if Pelosi is capitulating to Trump for no good reason. I expect all Republican enabling corporate Democrats to be replaced with progressives who actually do the job of reigning in this obscenity.

What does Trump have on Pelosi? He's now praising her, btw. Hopefully his touch will force her out.

Agreed on all counts.

I hear he looks hot in that uniform. Nice boots too.
