A Florida mom was arrested Thursday after her underage daughter was recorded licking a tongue depressor and placing it back with unused depressors at a Jacksonville doctor's office. Cori E. Ward, 30, was arrested on a felony charge of tampering with a consumer product without regard for possible death or bodily injury, according to jail records from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Ward is not eligible for bond and is due in court on Friday.

That there was no injury is a guaranteed effective defense for any Corporation. But we're talking about a poor Florida woman so throw the book at her. Conviction will be easy, so you can't pass that up. Lock her up for thirty years.

This is pretty stupid.

Both the kid and the prosecutors.

She doesn't deserve a long prison sentence, but let's not get carried away in sympathy because she'll probably get much less punishment than that.

She did something incredibly stupid and intentional that puts the health of others at risk, all because other morons are doing the same thing on social media.

30 years because her child licked a stick, but nothing but accolades for a flag burning rat?
Some sing Wong here.

No problems unless she had something infectious and you're the one that contaminated tongue depressor is used on. I believe that they are also setting an example to get others think twice about such actions. The wording of the charge reminds me of laws strengthened after the Tylenol poisoning incident back in '82 where seven people died.

Maybe she should just go back to snorting condoms of eating Tide pods.

Must have been an anti vaxxer.

That's how they inoculate each other.

The two things have nothing to do with each other. Burning a flag is speech, so it's protected by the First Amendment.

Licking a tongue depressor and exposing sick people to your germs at a doctor's office is not speech.

She put it back with other tongue depressors, so several of them were contaminated.

Normal behavior for a kid. I once filled a plastic bag with powdered sugar and left it on a movie theater seat. And that's not the least of what I've done.

This is a headline fail. Her kid wasn't alone and caught on video doing. She was with her kid and recorded and posted it herself. She definitely deserves a punishment BUT this is stupid. No Bond? Really? She should know better there is no doubt about it but no bond?

Another Republican who does not care at all about following the Constitution.

Which surprises no one. The party of Trump shreds the Constitution at every opportunity.

Move along... nothing to see here.

She should have told the doctor what her child had done immediately to have the jar replaced. This seems petty and not worth the arrest.

Oh Florida... you never fail to entertain with your stupid human tricks, nor disappoint with your overzealous prosecutions.
