Don't worry. Trump is clearing the way for them to develop their own.

Sadly, that is one of the possible outcomes.

Iran recently rebuffed the attempts of other signers of the nuclear agreement to try to keep the agreement in place in light of Pres Trump's backing away from it.

With this British tanker incident, the tension in the area is not diminishing.

The Mullahs and the IRGC are playing into the US' hands and are too stupid to realize it: by antagonizing the remaining members of the Agreement through smuggling oil, increasing enrichment and trying to seize assets by force they are not helping their "victim" status.

So there are consequences to Trump ripping up the treaty? Who knew?

"So there are consequences to Trump ripping up the treaty? Who knew?"

Omg, glad you asked. Yes, there are. Less money we are shelling out to Iran. Less control Iran has over our diplomatic clout with other countries. Less ability for Iran to get money from US companies. I could go on if you want but I'm sure you will just ignore it and respond with "but, but, but Trump is orange"...even though the color of a person isn't supposed to be a big deal (Liberals and their racism just keep showing up).

I was more focused on the Iran having free reign to pursue nuclear technology and our loss of the ability to inspect and ascertain how far along they actually are.

The agreement wasn't costing us anything. I know you are counting their own money as a gift from us but that was in fact already their money. Iran had no control over our diplomatic clout. We gave away a lot by backing out on our allies and showing them that none of our agreements mean anything as we will just back out next week anyway if we please.

That is Trump's lifetime MO though he has never signed a contract he intended to honor.

They only need "victim" status if they don't have a nuke.

Now, I don't think Iran actually wants to have a nuke. They just want the rest of the world to treat it with respect, and to have confidence that the US won't try to meddle in its affairs and overthrow its government (again). Sadly, the only way to deal with small-minded bullies like current Republicans is a show of force and power. Hence, Iran's only real option is to get a nuke to protect themselves from the US conservatives.

@#10 ... The Mullahs and the IRGC are playing into the US' hands and are too stupid to realize it: by antagonizing the remaining members of the Agreement through smuggling oil, increasing enrichment and trying to seize assets by force they are not helping their "victim" status. ...

The other side of this that I've seen proffered is: Iran is trying to play the US and the EU against each other.

While that may have been working to a small extent, I think it will eventually backfire on Iran. Especially since Iran just blew a key aspect of that tactic, i.e., not wanting to talk with the EU.

Exactly, and now they are, intentionally or otherwise, making Trump's point for him: they aren't to be trusted, they were going to enrich uranium regardless of the Agreement and they are the ones hitting all these tankers in the Gulf.

The IRGC has a long tradition of leaving the grenade in their mouth while they throw the pin, this is further proof of their ineptitude.

Less money we are shelling out to Iran.

We never shelled out any money to Iran.

Obama unfroze some of their assets. I know this has been explained previously. No need for me to assume you're paying attention this time.

Less control Iran has over our diplomatic clout with other countries.

A peace negotiation equals diplomatic clout?? I never knew.

Less ability for Iran to get money from US companies.

Get money? By doing business? Or by extortion??

I don't disagree in the slightest, but you play the hand you are dealt, and the mullahs haven't shown they can be trusted for almost 40 years, so that is nothing new.

LOL, perspective is everything.

Right now, most of the EU (and the Dems) are crying that under Trump the US is no longer the "trusted ally" that we once were, so I think it is fair to say that most of NATO, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Canada and a number of other allies have trusted us for decades.

I'd take the Republican silence as more of an abstinence than agreement, though silence unfortunately can imply agreement.

A race is a grouping of humans based on shared physical or social qualities into categories generally viewed as distinct by society.[1] First used to refer to speakers of a common language and then to denote national affiliations, by the 17th century the term race began to refer to physical (phenotypical) traits. Modern scholarship regards race as a social construct, an identity which is assigned based on rules made by society. While partially based on physical similarities within groups, race is not an inherent physical or biological quality.
