Where the strippers under-age?

But, yeah, I wouldn't let my kids go to that, and I have one on the way (maybe).

Danni, do you even know how golf tourney's are organized? It's like renting a hotel conference room.

But you saw Trump and strippers in the headline, and thought this was big news, didn't you?

It just kinda attracts more attention when the conference room is owned by the President of the United States.

Live with it. It's all good.

Things that used to upset Evangelical Christians.
Even when Republicans did it.

Morality.
Or rather, the politically expedient absence of the pretense of morality that defines Evangelical Christians.

You find something immoral about golf?

- Or rather, the politically expedient absence of the pretense of morality that defines Evangelical Christians.

Thou shalt not golf?

Are you comparing abortion to golf? Try to be specific in regards to your outrage.

Hey folks, I'm just reporting what the President of the United States is condoning on his property. Personally, I don't give a s**t, but as some mentioned above he caters to his Evangelical base. To me their condoning of this shows them to be the hypocritical liars I have always considered them to be. This is comedy, this President is a joke and so are his supporters. No one, with a brain, can take him or his supporters seriously about anything.
If you think our President should be hosting such an event fine but don't ever have another comment flow from your mouth about the morality or dignity of any other politician. Rep. Weiner would be embarrassed by this and that says a lot.
Republicans is synonymous with hypocrites.

Not even worthy of a plonk sure wastes a lot of words to say nothing. To even try to defend Trump, when everyone here knows his past history, just makes you look like a liar. To pretend he isn't compromised by Putin is even more laughable.

I don't think I've been to a golf tournament that didn't have strippers. They drive the beer carts around and sell selfies to guys that are way too thirsty.

I agree, completely. Evangelicals and Republicans certainly didn't grade on a curve like this when it came to questions of morality, particularly sexual morality, back during the Clinton administration.
In the past few days, these same people have also shown themselves to be complete snowflakes in addition to hypocrites. It's hilarious to listen to right-wingers hyperventilate about the lack of dignity by women soccer players and ignore the daily boorish behavior and insulting language from the president. Someone called into Rash Lardbutt's show yesterday and said, not ironically, that male sports teams don't drink so heavily and behave so offensively after winning a championship. What planet do these people occupy?

"Me? I think that Trump was attempting to appeal to suburban housewives with these strippers."

I think he is trying to appeal to his white male base who feel threatened by feminism. They love it when women are put into the roles they feel are appropriate, not as Presidential candidates who will kick Trump's ass in a debate. Hell, Ivanka is a cartoon character of a woman, surgically altered to please men. Her less surgically altered sister is invisible. Very telling.

Do you all realize that Trump has nothing to do with strippers being at this outing?

He does and says so many things that are actually offensive yet you people get all torqued up over this and his tweeting of "cute" to a tweet of him shaking hands with Reagan and a made-up quote from Reagan.

The problem with crap like this is you drown out the legion of legitimate criticisms of him. We have a roaring hot economy and no new foreign entanglements yet the news coverage of him is 90% negative (and outlets like Fox and WSJ are included in that total, otherwise that number would be even higher). When it's all-negative all-of-the-time and the negativity doesn't comport with what folks are seeing themselves, people begin to tune out.

In present case, Donald Trump associated with an event that feature stippers.

I attend many golf tournaments for business throughout the year. It's not that common to have strippers...usually it's just ------ dressed beverage cart girls.

But it's sad that nobody is apparently working to distance Trump from such an event knowing he owns the course. In this case, it's the non-profit that calls it off.

Bad management, IMO.

Like I said, Zed.

When people get all up in arms over something trivial like this, it drowns out the real stuff, of which there is a ton, when it comes to Trump.

#36 | Posted by 503jc69 at 2019-07-11 11:08 AM | Reply

I only golf a couple of times per year and I haven't attended a tournament in roughly 20 years.

The courses I golf at are in Northern Michigan, are really nice and are expensive.

I haven't seen any strippers but then I wouldn't expect to when golfing at Crooked Tree, Bay Harbor Golf Club or Little Traverse Bay.

Now, down here in lower Michigan at a course like Warren Valley, it wouldn't surprise me.

I pointed this out on another thread earlier...but this also illustrates the notion that they really aren't "up in arms" over it all.

It's faux outrage.

I don't see any of Trump's critics being offended. We think it's pretty funny and hypocritical.

A Trump Organization statement to the Washington Post said funds raised by the tournament were to go to the Miami All Stars charity.

However, the organization's director, Carlos Alamilla, told the Associated Press that he withdrew Wednesday because he wasn't aware a strip club was involved.

MarketWatch

Who was "so offended"? The charity. It is a children's charity after all.

Yep. Trump has had scandals galore involving women, but nobody around him is smart enough to say no to strippers on a Trump property while he's president?

It's because Trump loves this kind of stuff. He has, at best, an outdated view of women, and he sees no reason to put out a directive that his properties are to be squeaky clean and avoid controversy.

The #metoo movement has taken down a lot of men and has forced most Americans to examine their own behavior in terms of sexual abuse and harassment. But not Trump Nation. They're bored with all that sensitivity stuff. Bring on the T&A!

You saw TRUMP and STRIPPERS in the headline, and immediately jumped in to defend trump.

Because promoting progressive policies is your highest priority.

Have you done any of that today? All I've seen is more trump defense and deflection. So that's clearly your highest priority. Since that's the only way you can make any money.

Years ago, Willie Nelson had a rule when playing others at his golf course.

If you didn't hit the ball past the women's tee, you had to play the rest of that hole with your junk hanging out.
