Sixty percent of Americans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, the most in ABC News/Washington Post polls since 1995.

92% of abortions take place before 13 weeks. The fetus is less than 3 inches. I suspect if the question were asked about abortion when the fetus is less than 3 inches that 60% would be a lot higher.

That's the problem with this argument. The anti choice people work their asses off making this about killing babies. 3 inches is not a baby. Now of course for some it is, but not for a whole lot more than just 60% of the public.

Oh, and late term abortions can only occur if the mother will die otherwise. So those against late term abortion want dead woman. It's as simple as that.

And for those who insist that late term abortion can also occur just for the health of the woman. OK, I'll accept that argument because you would be admitting that abortion would be OK with you if it were only about the death of the woman. That's a start.

"Abortion kills twice. It kills the body of the baby and it kills the conscience of the mother. Abortion is profoundly anti-women. Three quarters of its victims are women: Half the babies and all the mothers."

I listened to a segment on NPR Monday about this topic. Frances Kissling interview on Here and Now - No matter what your position is, this is a GREAT interview. Frances Kissling is the president of the non-profit Center for Health, Ethics and Social Policy. She's the former president of Catholics for Choice.

It doesn't matter, the wingnut Evangelicals have succeeded in appointing 1/3 of the judges we have. Elections have consequences.

Why does your party think the best governance came from the age before science and reason?

You should tell that to some of the leftwing bible-thumpers around here.

Leftwing bible thumpers want to obey jesus and help the poor.

Rightwing bible thumpers want to punish gays and cut taxes for the rich. Things jesus never talked about.

Screw her. She said suffering children was a blessing.

"There is something beautiful in seeing the poor accept their lot, to suffer it like Christ's Passion. The world gains much from their suffering," Mother Teresa once told the unamused Christopher Hitchens.

Even within the bounds of Christian notions of blessed meekness, what kind of perverse logic underlies such thinking?

Hey, Mother Theresa. If "Abortion is profoundly anti-women", isn't that okay, since "The world gains much from their suffering?"

That woman was an evil force in the world.

Why don't you tell them?

You seem to have all the time in the world (and the temperament) to do so.

The Blessed Mother was very confused and felt she was not so blessed toward the end.

Apparently Jesus was "silent" to her and had been a long time.

"Jesus has a very special love for you," she assured Van der Peet. "[But] as for me, the silence and the emptiness is so great, that I look and do not see,--Listen and do not hear--the tongue moves [in prayer] but does not speak ... I want you to pray for me--that I let Him have [a] free hand."

Family Planning prevents abortions. And you know how we hate abortions!

So let's cut that funding ASAP.

I think the coming of age of the Millennial generation has caused a lot people to re-think their view on abortion.
