Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

After Jeffrey Epstein's latest arrest on sex trafficking charges, some famous people may be squirming. His notorious little black book and private-jet manifests contained a long list of boldface names, including Victoria's Secret mogul Leslie Wexner and former president Bill Clinton, whose name appears on FAA manifests 26 times.

U.S. prosecutors on Monday encouraged anyone with information about Epstein's conduct to come forward, not just potential victims. To the socialites, celebrities and politicians who attended lavish parties at Epstein's homes in Manhattan or Palm Beach in the early 2000s -- or hitched rides on his private jet nicknamed the "Lolita Express" by the tabloids -- the request carried a clear message: Come talk to us before we seek you out.

Considering the dozens of alleged victims and hundreds of names on Epstein's contact list, the Epstein affair could be far from over. Some of the alleged victims have claimed they were farmed out to other famous men.

J. Doe and John Doe 1, both current residents of NYC, have to be freaking out right now.

"You would much rather be visiting the Department of Justice and engaging a conversation about what you saw rather than making the DoJ find you," said Jacob Frenkel, a former federal prosecutor now at Dickinson-Wright. "There's a much greater potential for influencing the parameters of an interview and the scope of cooperation by going in voluntarily than becoming a compulsory guest" of the government, he said."

... the Epstein affair could be far from over ...

This is going to be a big, wide-ranging investigation, with many people sucked in.

I just hope AG Barr will not interfere with its course.

From the cited article:

...The black book contains more than 1,000 names, ranging from close friends like Wexner to peripheral contacts from the worlds of politics, business, the media and European high society. The U.K.'s Prince Andrew and members of the Trump family make appearances. There's even an entry for the main number to the White House.

The names include well known performers, including Ralph Fiennes, Alec Baldwin, David Blaine, Jimmy Buffett and Courtney Love; media figures including Charlie Rose, Mike Wallace and Barbara Walters; former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak, former British prime minister Tony Blair, industrialist David Koch and the late Salomon Brothers chief executive officer John Gutfreund and his wife, Susan....

Yup, many people sucked in.

Baldwin, Buffet and Rose all have chronicled piggish tendencies (and Alec Baldwin is rumored to be one of the two Does that fought release of the documents from the Epstein case) so they may have something to be worried about.

This un-identified guy from the internet, who says he's a former government executive, and calls himself "Bill", has already issued a preemptive denial of any wrong doing: "I did not have sex with that girl, or that girl, or that one, or, "c'mon honey nope!", or....that one....or...."

I had forgotten about this lawsuit...

Epstein Arrest Is a Worry for Donald Trump (op-ed)

...During the 2016 presidential campaign, an unidentified young woman filed a suit against Trump in which she alleged that he raped her when she was 13 at a party at Epstein's Upper East Side townhouse in Manhattan. Trump denied the claims and the woman later dropped the suit because, her lawyer said, she was intimidated by death threats. The Trump camp described her allegations as "untrue."...

Do billionaires socialize? Most do. Epstein was the most successful hedge fund manager in the world, getting an invitation to one of his parties was an opportunity to socialize with a room full of potential investors. Trump doesn't drink and his taste in women is well known, he likes blond, tall models. I know a few would like to say he is evil, but he is likely only human. I doubt he knew of the extent of Epstein's depravity, that isn't anything Epstein would want to brag about. As far as I understand the most credible witnesses say it was Epstein alone doing the deeds.

Nothing is going to come of this. The victims will be paid off or threatened, just like they always are.
If a presidential candidate can squash a rape claim, claims against a former POTUS will go nowhere.

#10 Another Trump supporter trying to look objective while rolling in Trump feces in pathetic defense of his cult leader's "character".

It's coming... wait for it....

If Epstein does have dirt on Trump and if the GOP wanted a legitimate way to get rid of him, letting that dirt come out would be a good way to do it. Can you say President Pence?

As I have repeatedly pointed out to AU, that lawsuit was dismissed twice by Jane Doe's lawyer when judges in CA and NY ordered Jane Doe to appear in chambers to establish her bona fides and she never appeared. Her lawyer claimed that was because of threats, but the courts regularly have sensitive witnesses and defendants and didn't buy her lawyers excuses.

Lisa Bloom, her attorney, is the daughter of Gloria Alred, who is known for these kinds of political stunts, and is currently under investigation by the CA Bar for these lawsuits.

Keep panting. you'll never finish.

Of the 1000 names in the black book, it's likely that 990 are just business contacts, influencers, acquaintances, etc.... It's the 10 others that will be pursued, and I think that information isn't going to come from the book, it's going to come from testimony. If you flew to Epstein's rape island, you're probably lawyering up right now.

Is it too early to play "jump to conclusions"? I'm betting on 2 major Hollywood players, 3 CEOs, 1 NFL owner, at least one other billionaire, and two foreign dignitaries. Oh, and his "recruiter", the Judas goat.

Leslie Wexner- Sorry about that buckeyes...Go Blue!!!

Considering Nassar at MSU and Wexner at OSU, not to mention Penn State, plus what happened at Maryland, we are looking
like a lock for the B1G "Not a Horrible Institution" championship.

Yes I know that's tasteless, but a rivalry is a rivalry.

Who ever is behind this op, Epstein and the girls are going to get waxed. A billion dollars from nowhere? If he turns state evidence it will get really interesting.

After the feds realized why the prosecutor let him off - and who she was - I'm thinking Russia. But looking at the scope of this thing, it could be anyone from SPECTER to the Illuminati.

"Epstein and the girls are going to get waxed."

He likes 'em without hair, so I doubt he'll mind.
