It's awesome to see the United States actually doing what the United States was founded on. The biggest failure by our forefathers was not having enough foresight where people would whine and cry because a state doesn't have the laws they want. This is how it was meant to be. Every state can be their own legal system. If you don't like one state, move to another that is closer to the ideals you hold. Our forefathers did what they could at a national level but failed to create a branch that directly caters to the people so that we could have instilled relocation as a federal right. Then it would already be inherent in our society that people could get help to relocate due to ideals.

Unfortunately, society is now failing the country because instead of working towards this, everyone is trying to make every social issue a Federal problem. And since we are a nation of privileged people, no one will accept that sometimes laws may not match what you want. You are supposed to just move to a place that does but, of course, it's very hard for people to move. It's much easier to just whine and cry like babies until Father Fed changes the system to cater to your temper tantrums.

No they cannot. Not if those laws do not meet the basic muster of the US Constitution.

Because then we would not be the United States.

It would just be the States.

This article is about New York City, not State, allocating a budget item, not a law.

Abortion is legal in the US. If you don't like that, then take your own advice and move to a country where Abortion is illegal.

That's because "No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

sounds simple to say that you oppose federal funding but it is not so simple.

Opposing federal funding for ensuring the health care rights of women comes with some baggage.

So, I am curious, does that mean you oppose federal funding of family planning and contraception, too?

These are things that prevent more abortions.

Do you also oppose federal funding for health care for women?

Because health care for women sometimes, by it's nature, includes abortions (rape, ------, etc).

And finally, if you oppose federal funding for abortions and or contraception does it follow that you then support the federal funding for raising of all the unwanted children who are born to parents who would have chosen contraception an abortion in their health care but were denied that right? Or should the States that decide to make abortion impossible and who denies that right be made to pay for raising these unwanted children until they are 18?

Do you support allowing states to circumvent the intent of the Law (the Constitution)and make abortions difficult if not impossible to get?

Being pro-Life really just means being pro-Fetus.

You folks are all for getting the federal government involved in the fetus part but could care less about getting involved in the actual Life part.
