@#1 ... its really pretty simple... ...

No, it is not simple at all.

The problem is quite complex.

If it were as simple as you assert, it would have been solved already by this great Country of ours.

But is hasn't been solved.

So, as a result, we continue to have these wonderful evening conversations.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy them, but really, when are you going to face reality, stop yer complaining and proffer a solution that is feasible?

Simply asked, what is your solution?

(someone had to ask...)

Par for the course.

I'm very interested in what "rap artists" have to say about immigration policy.

Is there a link for that?

Have you checked in with Jesse Ventura lately?

@#6 ... Par for the course. ...

I disagree.

Here's why...

I've discerned an intelligence behind that alias.

While said intelligence seems to often, ummm, digress into odd areas, there is an intelligence there.

So I look at it in this context...

Suppose we encounter an alien life form. How do we deal with it?

It's a learning experience when you look at the alias in that manner.

Is there? What is it?

Do you know why these people are trying to come to America?

Do you know why they're attempting to seek asylum?

@#13 ... You're still pretty new to the DR. ...

Yeah.

But perhaps that fresh view works in my favor.

Or not.

Too soon to tell.

Nothing of substance to add?

"Wouldn't have dragged the innocent child into a foreign country without permission.... "

Asylum seekers and refugees have permission to come here.

And any sensible person can understand that seeking permission through official diplomatic channels isn't always an available option, part and parcel of the reasons people are seeking asylum or refuge in the first place.

Mostly, what your comment does is this: It virtue signals your lack of empathy.

@#17 ... I like your optimism. ...

It's not all sunshine and rainbows.

Optimism is a burden at times.

But it's a burden I prefer to carry. The alternative is worse.

I'd have to vote to re-elect Pres Trump is I were perpetually pessimistic. The optimism aspect helps me think there is something better for the Country.

Wouldn't have dragged the innocent child into a foreign country without permission...

Don't lie.

You would have flown them here on your fat trust fund $$ and then just overstayed your visa.

Because you wouldn't have to risk showing up for a day job to feed your family.

Do you really not realize your cushy opinions are worthless?

Optimism is a burden at times.

Completely agree, and it's difficult. Sometimes disappointing.

The alternative is worse.

I'm not sure if it's objectively worse. It gives you different perspective on life. Gives you different priorities. I've heard people say it keeps them more realistic. That optimism is a fantasy.

Who's to say.

Any sensible person would admit that, in most cases, there was no intention of ever seeking permission through official diplomatic channels.

But you like to gloss over that part. That part being, presenting yourself at a legal port of entry and requesting a visa or asylum.

No, the plan is this: Run across the border in packs, disappear into the US and look for work as an illegal immigrant. If you get caught, claim asylum.

Cons will have us believe that the greatest country in the world lets refugees dictate our policy.

They will also forget to mention that these policies have effectively opened our borders.

Drought Leaves up to 2.8 Million Hungry in Central America

www.scientificamerican.com

Between drought and cartels, I'd rather take my chances trying to get the the U.S. than watch my kids starve or get beheaded. It's the whole survivor instinct that humans have that's troublesome.
